Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.

5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros) or LoseIt (great for both).

Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calories.
Eat processed foods.
Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself. Cheat days cheat only yourself.

Think I'm just going to do a small deficit from now on, 300-400 kcal, maybe even less. I'm sick of how shitty I feel on a bigger cut and I honestly don't care, I don't want life to be miserable just so I can be lean, might as well take it slow and steady and maybe actually gain muscle while losing fat

Or maybe I'll barely lose any fat, whatever I don't care. I'm sick of cutting and feeling like shit because I keep fucking up, just fuck it all I don't want these problems anymore, it's unnecessary stress.

The only way to succeed long term is find a way you can eat all the time that makes you lean and healthy.

Try keto or carnivore. You can eat ad lib (unlimited) so you are never hungry. And the food is delicious. Very sustainable.

Nope. I maintain my physique solely by eating as much as I can of: butter, bacon, eggs, cheese, salami, and beef.

Lost 26lbs through CICO and minimal bread bros.

Almost lost all of my lockdown/depression weight. Feels good.

I've only lost 8lbs
keto works but the deficits being too large are the problem, I can't sleep for shit when I do keto and it's impossible to eat anywhere near maintenance
