His father Stu invented ladder matches. Bret brought ladder matches to WWF.

No he doesn't, stop lying. Bret has always said he saw ladder matches in Stampede when he was a kid (and said so in the very interview the clickbait article references).

He said HBK stole his idea to have a ladder match on PPV in the WWF, as Bret was building to having one with Owen in 1994.

Shawn never saw ladder matches as a kid?

underrated

lol

>NOOOOOO HE STOLE LADDERS FROM ME!

Unironically, no. Ladder matches were pretty much exclusively a Stampede thing,

HBK would've been more used to Texas Death, country whippin', Bullrope matches growing up in Texas.

Stampede wrestling had ladder matches in the 70's. Bret suggested doing one in WWE during his feud with Owen. Shawn saw them either practicing or actually having a ladder match at a house show, and immediately ran to Vince and said he wanted to do a ladder match on PPV.

based

Shawn and Bret had a ladder match in 1992.

>In September 1972, Stampede Wrestling held the first ever ladder match between Dan Kroffat and Tor Kamata, where the object to be grabbed was a wad of money. In 1987, Kendo Nagasaki competed in a "disco challenge" ladder match against Clive Myers on the popular World of Sport.

I don't think any of them is Bret hart

the whole HBK vs Razor angle was based on there being two belts so a ladder match made sense also

Tape trading wasn't a thing back then?

Not until the very late 1970s in pro wrestling newsletter circles.

When he was a kid in the 70's? No it wasn't a thing, VHS was invented in 76 and only became cheap enough for regular people in the 80's, by the time VHS was common Shawn was pretty much an adult
