Probably because bug farms in the future will take up much less space than traditional farms since all you need is like a medium building and rotting food to give them. That way they can have these "farms" in cities and not rely on farmers who are usually in more right wing / traditional / gun loving / right knowing / militia joining states. They most likely want to choke out farmers and make everyone city dwellers. Then they'll buy all the farm land for pennies when the later generations dont want to farm. Create more gated communities. You know the drill. Nothing terrifies them more than an independant family who can live off the land and pays no bills.

I will eat bugs when 60g of bug protein is cheaper than 60g of chicken breast protein. At the moment it is like 10 times more expensive, can't afford that shit. And to be honest, bugs are easier to eat. You just add some chili and lime and eat them like peanuts, rather than choking down some dry ass antibiotic filled bullshit.
