Fell for the linear progression meme

>fell for the linear progression meme
>gym doesn't have microplates, get suggested to buy ankle weights because they're more versatile
>do so and take them to the gym
>stand out as fuck when I start strapping the weights on the barbell
>get incredibly self conscious about it, anxiety spikes making me feel I'm going to fuck up my lifts
have I gotten memed on? is lifting progression actually good or is it a dyel retard (like me) trap?

>get incredibly self conscious
Just don't and you'll be fine.

Idk

If you're going to bring your own weights why wouldn't you bring microplates...

its weird cause its the first time
do it for a few months, nobody will notice anymore
its also possible someone else will start doing it
gym goers are retards, you and me included

might be a cost thing

>fell for the quadratic progression meme
>having to do negative repetitions now
>gym staff mad I'm turning the racks upside down
even the wagies paid to work are gain gobling me now

you could also just increase reps til you can put on 10 lbs.

You're retarded not because you're bringing weights, you're retarded because you couldn't figure out a way to progressively overload without increasing weight.

so you're pulling the weights down?

lmao

That sounds retarded and your elevated cortisol/anxiety is literally killing gains. You can progressive overload with more reps until you can add 10s or 25s, rinse and repeat.

Here’s what I do and have consistently put weight on all my lifts. I’m open to suggestions and criticism but it’s just what I’ve found works for me.

>warm up adequately
>lift 80-90% of PR for as many reps as safely possible x2 sets
>drop weight to 60-70% of PR and do as many reps as possible x2 sets

The % aren’t entirely accurate, I mostly go by feeling to use a weight I can keep in 4-6 rep range. I’ll do this strat for all my compound movements and finish the session doing regular hypertrophy training on that muscle group.

If you are going to pussy out from exercising because of muh anxiety then just stay at home playing videogames, kid.

Holy shit who the fuck cares
You're going to the gym to improve yourself or to seek validation from others?
Just focus on yourself, turn yourself invisible to your surroundings, it's not like anybody there owe you anything or the other way around
t. Also used wrist weights for LP because platemates are too overpriced

>ankle weights
>stand out
that's normie tier, I used to tie 2 small chains to the barbell to make 1kg leaps

To be clear, you're asking if adding more weight to the bar, making progress at your lifts, which you are successfully doing, is a good thing?

And your reasoning for asking this is that you are a sperg who feels bad feelings while doing it?

>tfw fell for the quantum lifting meme
>can't measure how much im lifting since im always moving
>keep adding weight end up lifting -1/12
>some quantum entangled cunt is stealing my gains
