Majority of people gain weight as they age but not because anything in their body changed, their lifestyle and habits change. Adults get lazy and eat junk and aren’t as active. Your metabolism barely changes, definitely not anywhere near enough to account for obese levels of weight gain. 95% of adults 35+ just give up, most of them have already found a mate and have settled into their ways.
