No it's not that bad. I used to have 1 a week and still lost weight at the same rate. But for me cheat meal eating less calories so that I can fit in a shitty meal like wings or ribs. Not eating a fuckload of calories.
If it's that big a deal either way just have the cheat meal and that morning/afternoon do cardio for an hour
You should try to do net or maintenance days. If you want McDonald’s twice a month just eat at your maintenance calorie allowance. If you have a cheat meal or day you’re likely to erase progress you already made by over eating, eating at maintenance only slows your progress it doesn’t take away what you’ve already done.
If you eat a cheat meal surpassing maintenance calories by 1500cals. You lose 3 days of your deficit. There is nothing wrong with a cheat meal if you continue like nothing happens, but take that into consideration. I usually just keep the calories at my deficit and just replace meals with the cheat

depends on total calories. It is okay to do a 500-800 cheat day switching from usual diet to something less clean one every 2 weeks. But if you will find yourself eating 1500-2000 then it's just plain stupid. The more cheat meals, the longer the cut. I assure you that you will thank yourself if you decide to go clean in your cut and stick to your plan, because you will go into maintance/lean bulk faster and struggle less. Also the better the wieght loss the better the motivation
You have to have cheat meals. If you go straight caloric deficit, your body will adapt to the lower caloric intake. You need to trick your body by occasionally eating more calories.

cheat meal with no other purpose than to "feel good eating" is useless and also feeds back into shitty relationship with food
after you actually get into a good diet for a long while, you lose the appetite for trash food
you can still enjoy desserts and similar things once in a while, but no trash

I had a huge fucking cheat meal yesterday, felt really tired after. 2 jr whoppers, 2 small fries and a spicy ch'kang sandwich. If that sounds like a weird order it's because the whoppers and fries were one of the discount offers on the app.

it really wasn't worth it, if I had just had one whopper it would've only been like 700 calories and I could've still made deficit by having a small lunch

I have plenty of cheat meals during my cuts. Just burn them. If I'm planning a 1500 calories pizza for dinner, I just go for a run until I burn at least 1000

You can eat "cheat meals" that fit into your calories. Maybe you can disregard your macros for a day but no reason you cant have a big mac or whatever the fuck on a cheat day and still stay -500.
I’ve been being strict. Only down a couple pounds and only a week in. I need to cut like 60lbs total. Every 10 pounds im going to have a day where I eat whatever I want.
