holy fucking boomer
It's not even the time that's the problem, it's that it takes him 20 seconds to get a complete sentence out
you have to live it
A diet based on meat, fruit and dairy.
With supplements of coconut oil, gelatin and aspirin.
A bit of starch is fine if you tolerate it.
Claims pufas is the root of almost every disease and cause of aging.
That's the basics of it.
Ray Peat forums is good food for thought if you are researching a specific topic.
He's 86 years old
read that whole thing, thanks for the cap. he sounds a little crazy though, i've never heard anyone else say the things he is. is he just overinterpreting studies, ie with the carcinogens in the fruit, maybe the carcinogens only increased like 1%? he seems pretty smart. idk thank you i will go check out the forums
For what it's worth, I've never felt better than following his guidelines.
The only thing to do watch out for is excessive dairy fat- you will put on weight.
Why should I listen to old people for advice?
I've tried making low fat dairy work for me but it won't. The only way to tolerate milk is to have it full fat, with sugar and coffee in the right proportion.
I eat ~4500 calories and I got fat indeed last summer when I was barely training (some push-ups once a week) but then I cut and regained that weight back with lifting 4x/week and it's the best progress I've seen in years.
old = survived
here you go
low fat dairy can worsen insulin resistance. Always go full fat or just cut out dairy if you really need to cut
You shouldn't; they are old and out of touch with reality and the way things are. The best advice they'll give you is to pull yourself up by your boot straps and that hard work is all you need to make it
>low fat dairy can worsen insulin resistance
Never heard of that but I remember myself being constantly either tired or in the toilet with a messed up stomach when I was trying to "adapt" to low fat dairy (both milk and Greek yogurt) and the moment I cut that crap and went back to full fat dairy I felt energetic.
Keep in mind I also tried switching to low fat dairy while keeping the calories the same (I just added more sugar to the diet to make up for the lost fat) and I still felt like absolute garbage.
I probably won't cut ever again since I'm now recomping well, feeling good most of the time and making good strength gains.
One thing that nobody talks about is how some people just don't feel good being lean (I don't mean it in a HAES way, I mean it in the context of a strong dude who lifts and eats >4000 calories a day)
ive upped my sugar and dairy intake, and eat a daily carrot salad because of him. aspirin semi regularly. genuinely feel better and less stressed.
He's a retard simple as
how nasty are peatards’ teeth? all that sugar must take a toll
