Definitely the most DYEL lift. No one that looks good in the gym ever does deadlifts. Only manlets and shitskins that smell like orange peel.

It builds glutes and back. But I agree it's a shit exercise if you're not a powershitter. Too much effort for too little reward.

i'm finally considering doing deads just because i've been doing lots of weighted pull ups/chinups and have developed a monster back. seen from the side it protrudes outward thickly and comes back in to a thin waist, think it looks a little goofy. can you actually noticeably increase the thickness of your lower back? And is there a better hypertrophy focused exercise for it if so?

Training for a 1rm aint gonna help you that much, but sets of 10 deads will fry your lower back, hammies and hips.

Why do people bother with difficult and heavy lifts like squats and deadlifts and bench pressing… you can just do light easy weight for high reps on machines and look sexy with much less effort

High intenitsy increases strength and hypertrophy (intramuslucar strength) increases strength potential. 1 rms, 10 rms, 20 rms and everything around and inbetween are mutually benefical, work together and have there place imo

RDLs will do much more in the way of hypertrophy than regular deads ever will.
