Type 2 Diabetic needs help

Hey all, I am in my late 30's and was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes after a blood test came back with a blood sugar reading of 8. I am overweight, around 300lbs and 6'1"

I don't know what to do. I have an appointment with a dietician schedules but this busted ass Canadian health care system will probably have me talking to a complete moron and waiting forever to do so..

I need your help.. is there anybody out there

hideously morbidly obese, fat as fuck, go ahead, i should've said that my bad

1) Lose weight
2) Work out
3) Eat food with a low glycemic index
Type 2 can be cured if you’re not too far into the ‘Beetus.
t. 33yo who got his first scare last year, and has fixed his diet

thanks for getting back to me.. i will start doing this right away but the working out part will be nearly impossible.. i can't afford the insane gym membership prices where i live, and i do not own any equipment. I will do a ton of walking and stuff but not sure what else to do.. as far as the food goes that's where i'm really struggling.. i just don't know what to make for myself to eat anymore

Stop eating carbs, try keto.

Eat whole foods. The rest is poison. It's really that simple.

keto comes up in my research but i don't think i can handle all the cholesterol.. it sounds so rich

Cut all refined carbs and sugar and watch your hba1c, fasting glucose, and triglycerides return to normal. If not you may have to cut down on "healthy" carbs as well

thanks, i will do this - but what do i eat for breakfast and dinner? i just don't know what to cook or make anymore.. any suggestions?

Walking is fine for now. Look into yoga and callisthenics. Plenty of free programs on the web.
Same goes for food. Keto was made specifically for diabetics, but just check the glycemic index of whatever fruit/vegetable you want to eat.

Oatmeal is GOAT. No need for sugar; just add cinnamon.
Dinner: No simple carbs. No bread, no pasta and no rice. Practically just eat meat and vegetables (check the GI of the vegetables, of course)

That’s a relief to hear - I love oatmeal and had this as my first meal today, topped with some crushed nuts and half of a banana.. but fruit freaks me out, can I even eat it anymore? No pasta is heartbreaking, but aye, I understand. Thank you.

Banana has the highest GI of fruit, my man. Go for apples instead.

Oh, shit. Absolutely will do, thank you

And if you like pasta with tomatosauce, you can substitute the pasta with shredded squash. Tomatoes have a low GI.

be careful with even oatmeal if you're this far gone already. Pretty much every grain is gonna be trouble for you. While fiber does somewhat offset carbs, which is were you get this net carb nonsense that you'll see on some nutrition labels, in reality it is just another form of carbs. For instance, a half cup of rolled oats has 28g of carbs, 4g of which are fiber, so you're still consuming 24g of carbs.

I do, for sure, I used to like a simple garlic and oil pasta too but I hear I’m supposed to try and avoid olive oils now.. any suggestions for what I can snack on between meals? Hunger feeling has been frustrating thus far

They were steel cut, but okay, should I avoid oatmeal altogether? What would you recommend for breakfasts?

probably just an egg white omelette, with peppers, garlic spinach. whatever you have on hand. Tho honestly in your position eating less meals,by which I mean skipping breakfast, might be for the best.

Cheese and nuts.
And get used to the hunger. It's going to be a mental challenge, but you'll be surprised how strong you can be and how good it feels.
I'm doing regular 48 and 72 hour fasts now, but half a year ago I'd practically start crying at the thought of not eating for six hours.
You should only use olive oil, lard and butter (clarified for frying) to be honest.
Steel cut has the lowest GI, but he's right.

>lmao just fast and avoid PUFAs
>fasting is the fastest way to lose weight
>Dr. Jason Fung has reversed Type 2 Diabetes in his patients
>avoid PUFAs since they are most likely causing insulin insensitivity
>you can even fix Type 2 by only eating carbs because you're avoiding PUFAs
>lmao just fast and avoid PUFAs
