SS + GOMAD = WORLD PEACE
SS + GOMAD = WORLD PEACE
>oly
no thanks
He’s not wrong though.
Built this body with a slightly modified version of SS
Just replaced power cleans for weighted chin-ups and bench press for weighted dips
What the hell is an 'olympic' lift? Didn't they ditch strength for some urban youth streetdance trash?
I encounter far more machines in life than I do zero cost weights.
lol
If you're going to shill for functional strength why wouldn't you promote a calisthenics routine that has movements that promote balance as well as strength, and don't require gym?
Pretty sure Rip would get along with Putin not yell at him
I'm voting Rippetoe in 2024.
>built a dyel t-rex body with SS
Color me surprised
Cables are great for isometrics, and isos are great for grip training or when I'm squeezing someone's neck or laughing at the dyel trying to armbar me who bought the "muh technique beats everything" meme at jiujitsu.
>avoid benchpress
Why though?
>fat guy thinks he is athletic because he dl 4 plates and squat / goodmornings 3
funny how this guy is always wrong even in retarded subjects like fitness
this guy's takes on lifting and the "vaccine" are cringe enough to dissuade me from reading his books
Oh ok so crossfit
supposed to be an unnatural movement
but don´t listen to him
deadlifting for example is an absolut shit exercise for anything else then getting higher dl numbers and even there a squat probably helps your more then just deadlifting
i do an actuall sport and i stick to mostly machines and bw stuff
anything else is jsut way to taxing and the risk of injury is too high
ss fags just think they are great functional strong humans but cant run a mile and getting their ass handed in pretty much any sport
Nice digits.
>i do an actuall sport and i stick to mostly machines and bw stuff
wasted digits
I rowed for eight years
it's absurd how much of my team honestly believed that blasting out 2K's on the erg, running bleachers and hills, and occasionally doing gay smith squats with babby weight would make them fast.
in HS, I was demoted to 6 seat on the #2 fiberglass hull boat because I was "too heavy," coincidentally we were the only boat that medaled that year, even when our #1 was in a carbon hull.
I quit sweep rowing because it was fucking up my back something awful, but started cycling instead. I'm 235lb and still fucking blast 150lb freds on Pinarellos on inclines despite riding a homebuilt CF with a flat-terrain cassette.
heavy compounds waste much less of your time than trying to do a comprehensive workout on a bunch of gay machines, waiting for zoomers to get off their phones.
>heavy compounds waste much less of your time
not talking about time
just stfu with your highschool amateur level sport
deadlifting literally has zero carry over to any sport
wasting time and effort on getting good at deadlifting when you could be busy rowing is just stupid
not even considering the huge risk of injuries
inb4 some 18yo tries to lecture me how they never had an injury from deadlifting and my form is just shit when all they every dl was 3 plates
deadlift will wear you down and after some years
>I quit sweep rowing because it was fucking up my back something awful
weird totally wouldn't see this happening with heavy compounds
First off, no one asked. Second, you look gross.
Nah you're right dl form statistically breaks down at higher weight. Most common injuries to strong man and powerlifting are lower back and shoulder.
>starting strength
>avoid bench
AHAHAHAHAH fucking christ you already become a trex on SS, removing bench makes you a human pear.
>deadlifting literally has zero carry over to any sport
>engaging the posterior chain from the floor has zero carryover
>wasting time and effort on getting good at deadlifting when you could be busy rowing is just stupid
you cannot load the hamstrings and back while rowing like you can while deadlifting. Deadlifting is also by far the most efficient way to teach rowers to drive with the heels. Driving with the midfoot and toes is one of the biggest causes of an unset boat for intermediates who know to keep the oar level
>inb4 some 18yo tries to lecture me how they never had an injury from deadlifting and my form is just shit when all they every dl was 3 plates
I'm 30 and my current deadlift is 555lb. I've never had a deadlift injury. I've had multiple squat injuries, but that's because of a leg length discrepancy fucking up my QL.
>weird totally wouldn't see this happening with heavy compounds
sweep rowing generates injuries on the left side of the back for port rowers and right side for starboards because you're reaching out to one side of the boat, loading the back in rotation while cranking the oar. this doesn't happen with sculls, but I didn't want to spend $5k on a single scull.
Jews ROCK!
hello new guy
