What is the explanation for how they're making record profits right now with a fraction of the audience they had a few decades ago? I know the Saudi deal does a lot of the work but they went public over 20 years ago, where does all that extra money come from if they've declined so much in popularity since then?

>getting worked by nielson in 2022

TV ad rates are worth a lot more than they used to be, because it's a lot harder to get people to actually watch ads these days and tv is the one platform where people don't just skip them. And affiliate fees are more important than they used to be. TV providers are pulling in like 10 billion a month in subscription fees and a good chunk of that gets handed out to the networks as affiliate fees. So the more people you have watching, the more affiliate fees you get. A lot of wrestling fans have cable JUST to watch wrestling, so the WWE gets a better deal than most tv shows.

Tv deals. TV networks are paying out the ass for content even though ratings are down across the board. The whole system is completely different than it was 20 years ago. Saudi deal makes them a good deal of money as well. And even though 3/4 of the wrestling audience is gone, the ones that remain will spend a lot more per capita on tickets, merchandise, etc.

Record profits you fucking tard

Less popular wwe is worth more to tv now than popular wwe was in the 90s. It's that simple

How many lifetimes do you think it would take for you to accomplish what he has over the decades?
how many arenas have you owned? how many hockey teams? get your start promoting a lot of concerts and all that? did your dad make you buy his company from him and then leave you on your own? did you then save that industry from an egomaniacal promoter trying to buy everyone out and consolidate the entire industry in the south? did you then proceed to adapt idea after idea after idea into nothing but pure gold? all that before even hitting the 'mainstream' and making your name?
nah, probably not eh?

>WWE has lost more viewers than AEW will ever have
>Still has more fans than AEW
>Record profits
no milly?

>business man becomes a billionaire
>this man is a failure
huh

Loses 90% but some how manages to make more money then the attitude era.

aewtists, much like leftists in general, have no grip on reality
they don't understand how money, business or indeed the world works

>90%

Why can’t any of you fat shits stop being emotional fags about fake fighting and do simple math?

Exactly! Sports Entertainment isn't for the fans, it's for the advertisers. The fans will watch everything they're told to like, and they will actually like it. Vince said that in 2006 I think and he was right

record profits = good businessman

Xirs...

Das rite, a drop from 8 million to 2 million is not a 90% drop
