I'm 19 and want to become a pro wrestler, or at least learn the ins and outs of the business and perform some indies. However, when I look at the current state of the business, it looks bleak and I'm worried there would be no money in it.

>record low ratings
>outlaw mudshow indies
>flippy shit and no psychology
>WWE hiring athletes from other sports and not wrestlers
>AEW hiring shitters besides top guys from other companies

What do you guys think about the business, there's def some highlighted new guys like MJF and FTR. I just want to be a real champion like it was back in the day. Work a crowd and call it in the ring. Just do it how it was in the "good old days"

Show us your body

lmao you're a retard

WWE have NEVER made more money than now and Indy wrestling never had bigger exposure than now

don't become a wrestler, you're a moron

Tell us your height.

I'm gonna go get some training in the future but I just finished college first, you definitely need a Plan A user because from what I see you have to bleed a lot of money travelling and if some shitty injury gets you, until you can actually make some cash

I'm not talking about companies making the money, no shit they do. Record profits, in fact. I'm talking about the guys making money in comparison to years previous. General audiences don't give a fuck about wrestling, just the idea of Wrestlemania or anything they heard of from back in the day

Be prepared for being a shit indie flipper

I'm 5'10, 170 on a cut rn. skinny waist, broad shoulders. Pretty good size for my height but I want to go on a real bulk first. Was an athlete in high school. Just do some wrestling magic and you can call me 6 foot or some shit

>Go through a good wrestling school
>Learn to cut a promo
>Lift weights
>Treat yourself seriously / Don't do garbage matches
>Respect kayfabe
>Study matches and angles from the territory era
You'll be better than 90% of the wrestlers nowadays

>I'm 5'10
Bruno sammartino was around that height while being bulky af

The way to fix the business is through fixed/worked influencer fights. Do indys and shit learn about promotion but become a youtuber or tik tokker. That drama shit is the only kayfabe marks believe.

Cesaro got a 2 million dollar contract, theres plenty of money in wrestling

Guys are making more money in pro-wrestling now than at any time prior in the history of the business, and it's easier to break in than e'er before.

There are plenty of valid reasons not to become a pro-wrestler, but not the ones you've cited.

Maybe I listen to Cornette too much lol idk

>>Study matches and angles from the territory era
Not OP but do you do this? How is it any different than a fan that just watches

cornette is good influence for knowledge but don't take all he says for granted

Just go to Japan, join DDT and join the Pheromones you'll make it big brother

OP here. Thank you all for the ideas and help so far

For example, you can see the rock n' roll express against a heel tag team and try to identify why the people go nuclear when Gibson gets the hot tag from Morton
You look for body language and facial expressions that makes Ricky morton's selling such a compelling babyface, you analyze what the heels do to cut his comeback and how, you analyze how Robert gibson transmits that babyface fire when he enters as the fresh man, you pay attention to how the heels feed his comeback
And that's just one example. You can also study how guys like Blanchard and Flair make TV squash matches entertaining without burying themselves, what are the differences between Hogan hulking up and Lawler dropping the strap, what makes or breaks a face turn, what makes or breaks a heel turn, etc...

No problem bro if you ever need a tag partner in the future ill be there just look for a guy with a mustache and is a arn anderson fan

okay. studying has never been my strong suit but i'll try

OP if you'd be happy making $0 (and no generic cola or hot dog contrary to belief) to wrestle in an armory in front of 12 people (3 paid attendance) against some untrained 42 year old morbidly obese alcoholic who likely smells strongly of feces and urine I'd say go for it
If you believe strongly enough in yourself you might even become the WAWWCF TriCounty Hardcore champion one day

main roster WWE is amazing money
