How do i get into joshi wrestling? What one is the best? , where can i watch it for free? and what show do I start from?
How do i get into joshi wrestling? What one is the best? , where can i watch it for free? and what show do I start from?
>Stardom
biggest with the highest production, they do ppvs monthly with big stages in large buildings with pyro and shit. The matches are like watching sloppily redone AJW 90s matches on fast forward, but there's some good stuff too.
>TJPW
2nd biggest, focuses more on character and cutesy and comedy shit than having 'le epic 5 stars' for Meltzer and usually sticks to what they know best. There's times where you will see a great, more 'typical' wrestling match but the company isn't really about that
>Oz Academy/SEAdLINNNG/Marvelous/WAVE/Pure-J/etc
These are the indies that are usually composed of 3 to 6 roster members that have freelancer wrestlers sprinkled in to fill out cards. Each one has its own vibe, Oz Academy is similar to old southern wrestling with building wide brawls and violence, Sendai and SEAd is more about good, straight matches, WAVE is more comedy based but also can have great wrestling depending on the card.
>Ice Ribbon
They're in a weird situation right now where about 10 core people have left the company in the last three years so they're down to rookies and freelancers to make up their cards, but the company is historically significant.
>where to watch?
Stardom and TJPW posts matches to youtube while also having their own dedicated streaming service with their archive of shows available.
Sendai posts whole shows to youtube, and also has ppvs for big shows
WAVE sometimes posts matches and shows to youtube, but is mostly a ppv only company
Oz and SEAd are ppv only
Stardom is evil and run by bad people. They are so evil that they believe TJPW being "friendly girls" is an insult because their own organization is filled with such emotional miasma.
So do I just watch the latest TJPW show or watch from years back?
do what the fuck you want
Yeah just watch the show from yesterday.
Based tell this mark to gain his own taste for us to criticize we won't hold your hand
I'm retarded I won't know whats going on
they just had their biggest show ever a couple days ago, give that a shot.
Just start watching Stardom. You can honestly start anywhere, but you could start with the best match of 2021, Tam Nakano vs. Giulia hair vs. hair.
Once you start watching and you want to know wtf is going on with certain things, just ask in /stardom/
Don't worry about the language issue - most shows don't have ANY commentary, Japanese or English. The shows are meant to be watched with no commentary. It's not like WWE or AEW where there are half talking segments and half wrestling.
it's pro wrestling how fucking dumb are you to not understand what's happening especially in tjpw where feuds and storylines don't exist anymore
Both Stardom and TJPW had big shows yesterday.
Watch them and see which you liked more, if you even liked either
>the best match of 2021, Tam Nakano vs. Giulia hair vs. hair.
lmao almost any Utami title defense was better than that boring heatless overrated as fuck match
there's so many things wrong with this post that I'm just going to post this picture instead of comment further
Non pedo here. I find the most enjoyment out of watching Gatoh Move and TJPW. They are just extremely soulful and comfy. Stardom is for try hards.
>Non pedo here
Right
Just watch a Stardom show and watch a TJPW show and figure out what you're into. Both are good but for different reasons. Stardom tends to have higher quality matches but TJPW has more fun characters.
The most recent show is good and has cheering crowds which makes it better.
Are you an entomologist? Then you're not gonna like Joshi wrestling
Just turn it on and you'll get in. Stardom, TJPW and Ice have had some shows with English announcers.
>Stardom
The biggest promotion. Has probably the best of everything, but they poached a lot of their best talent from other promotions which lead to a lot of us hating it and there's general lack of character.
>TJPW
More about idols first and wrestling second. Half the roster is very bad and limited, but nobody really cares because they want to see idols doing cute things.
>Ice Ribbon
The #3 promotion. Is going through the most unluckiest stretch ever with injuries, defections and retirements. But they are a home grown, local type of promotion that is admirable.
>Oz Academy
Old roster, no rules and probably not for people who aren't 1990's joshi marks.
>Seadlinng
Do you like transexual wrestlers? This is the promotion for you. It's a dying promotion that only runs twice a month or so and only does PPV's. Almost no exclusive wrestlers.
>WAVE
Similar to Seadlinng with less trannies. If you like old wrestlers with some younger girls and never was's mixed in, this is for you. They also have almost no exclusive wrestlers and no real hope for the future.
>Marvelous
Lead by the Hulk Hogan of Joshi, Chigusa Nagayo. They train boys and girls, do a very good job of it, but are a smaller promotion that may only run once or twice a month.
>Pure-J
Good, smaller promotion with homegrown talent, but not popular on the IWC.
>Sendai Girls
You can see some of their stuff for free on youtube. Good, homegrown stuff, but hard to follow.
You should start from 2018 so you can see the growth. If you start with the last show they did (Summer Sun Princess) you will kind of spoil everything because they finally stopped the bullshit restrictions and it's one of the Top 3 best shows they've done.
