Imagine wrestling in front of 500 people who aren't cheering...going to America, and the next week you are wrestling in front of 15000 fans who are white hot. It's gotta be somewhat of a shock.

Surely even most people who were strict about the rules don’t give a fuck now, it’s over. I’m immunocompromised and had it and don’t give a fuck.

But cheering is back at some events and concerts the government isn’t enforcing it, it’s just a suggestion so it’s up to new Japan. Hopefully after the election Japan opens up to tourists and crowds cheer

It's not just up to New Japan. Part of the problem is that the venues have their own policies, and the venues are the people who care the least if fans are upset about cheering. They just want their bookings
Wrestling either doesn't have the clout or doesn't have the balls of things like music or MMA to push the venues to allow people to cheer

3 shows. the TJPW show this weekend, GanPro show the night after, and the DDT show in August

One of the best moments was a few NJPW shows back when they were in Osaka...I believe it was Sho? was doing some heelish shit and some of the crowd was getting so worked they started to yell/pop for a split moment. It was nice to hear but then again Osaka usually doesn't give a fuck compared to the rest of Japan.
