It only lets past those who are worthy and pure I believe? It’s been awhile
Anyway it lets Mario in, recognizing his achievements. It lets the babies in for their innocence.
Then it gets to Luigi.
What follows is a 5 minute fucking roast of this random star gate refusing to let him in and telling him he’s fucking worthless and why does he exist what’s his purpose he should just basically quit now and stop before he fucks it up for everyone. It was a really long scene I recently remember Luigi crying and shit.
It was really OOC and random as shit, came out of nowhere and it started the whol bullying Luigi shit that happens with Starlow in later games.
It’s also a really annoying excuse to make the player go through a dungeon just to “prove your worth” to this dumb gate. A major low point for PiT
