I just want to say that gatekeeping is an important part of videogames and videogame communities.

Yeah, too bad the gates broke down half a century ago.
So why didn't you actually do it when it really mattered back during the shitshows?
Honestly, not spoonfeeding retards will suffice.
Dumb dragon.
You’re a faggot.
Depends on which videogames you play. Map painting simulators are still autistic enough to scare off normies and don't have anime girls so they don't appeal to troons and leftys so the genre is still safe despite Paradox being a bunch of cucks.
I love my wife Bernie!
Based Edelgard poster.
its 2 late
it doesn't work and it's a dick move regardless. Communities and gameplay is supposed to be the filter but the jews got rid of both of them.
>it doesn't work so don't you dare try it
>also if you try it you're a dick
Sounds like someone is mad they got successfully gate-kept.
>Gatekeeping doesn't work and is for dicks. The community should just gatekeep
Based retard
That's not what i meant
It doesn't work. You can only gatekeep shit games. And the only way of gatekeeping games is by not talking about them which again doesn't work.
Eushully is still doing the good fire emblems.
I know the guily gear subreddit got infested by normies starting to make garbage tier lists about "the likelihood of a character ordering pineapple pizza" now that it's popular. so yeah hard to disagree to an extent
You can't gatekeep something that by design, does not want to be gatekept.
True and not just for vidya.
Okay aids
>by design, does not want to be gatekept.
And how is that the case, faggot?
Gatekeep deez nuts
>gatekeeping one of the cheapest and easiest hobbies on planet earth
Good luck
I'm talking about anything concerned with making money. Gatekeeping actively impedes that goal. You're basically pretending to be the savior when in reality you are just trying to kill the product's ability to be successful and then cry about it when they never make any more games because it wasn't successful enough to make more.
>GATEKEEPING MATTERS
>didn't gatekeep when it actually fucking mattered
there are very few genres safe from this pozzed trash now and most of them are because they're too complex for the average amerimutt to give enough of a fuck about to start shitting up, the time to do it was a decade ago before the internet became a fucking unsalvageable mess
>videogame communities
were a mistake.
make a group of friends, play vidya and talk about vidya with them. this "X community" thing is just a marketing gimmick that's spiraled out of control.
how so?
We need to go back to putting autists in establishments where they just get the shit beaten out of them until they stop bothering actual humans.
You fucking piss stains don't even know how to gate keep outside of screaming "Nigger" and "Faggot" like that doesn't just attract more opposition in the first place.
Depends on the demographic you're targeting when trying to sell your product. Obviously the people making and selling the game/movie/show/whatever want to get as many people to tune into their product as they can, but often trying to chase larger demographics can alienate your original fanbase and kill your product overall. It's a balancing act of trying to earn new fans while keeping your hardcore original fanbase happy, the term 'gatekeeping' is mostly used to mean not making decisions that would upset the core fans.
I mean it can be said for most forms of media. from films to written work. Examples for something that was gate kept for a while before it all came crumbling down are things like WH40K.
>WH40K
The game kids in the uk played before Americans thought the lore was supposed to be taken seriously?
