>muh difficulty spike
Use great runes.
Muh difficulty spike
I don't play Action RPG, dishonest difficulty.
I will not.
i finished the game and never used a great rune, what do they do?
They're like embers from ds3 but on crack
Fire Giant has that one explosion attack that I think you won't survive unless you have close to 2500 HP and 60% fire absorption.
>Malenia's Great Rune
>gives you Bloodborne's rally system
>it's completely useless because you obtain it at the end of the game where you have basically done everything
If there's no DLC to make use of this rune it will become the greatest game design fuck up in all of FromSoftware history, it better be DLC bait.
>boss kills don't active great runes the same way you got embered in DaS3
>rune arcs are rarely found compared to how big the open world is
>droprates from rats is abysmal, droprate increasing ring is found in an optional area only accessible after playing through 3/4 of the game
This is a game where most people looked up OP bleed builds on YouTube and summoned Tiche/Mimic.
There is no difficulty.
They've always added a bunch of cool stuff in the late game that you can only really use on NG+ and beyond, annoying but not really a fuck up.
>rune arcs are rarely found compared to how big the open world is
You still get a fuckton, though. I know I used a ton and still had like 10 left over.
The rune isn't even that great.
>Stronger attacks don't have higher rally potential like in Bloodborne
>The timer to rally is really fucking short
>Still cuts down the healing of your Flasks even though the effect isn't that good
For slower weapons it is basically useless. Some fast hitting weapons can make decent use of it, but even for those +30% HP from Morgotts rune is just better.
Where exactly is this difficulty spike? Nothing really seemed out of the ordinary compared with other from games
>the greatest game design fuck up in all of FromSoftware history
Nah,that goes to Steel Battalion Heavy Armor which is more or less unplayable.
The first one you get is like 40 levels worth of stats or something. Outclasses all others until you softcap your stats.
>dishonest
what the fuck does that even mean?
I quite simply don't want to level Vig, that's the equivalent of asking for a crutch, a larger mistake allowance.
>Use great ruin for more health
>Still die in two hits because the difference is boss hits for 80% of your health pre-ruin and 60% of your health post-ruin.
>Now I have 1 less item.
Cool
I like Elden Ring but it does have some dumb flaws.
user... you lose the Great Runes in NG+...
Trading a hit with Poise is a very viable strategy because of stance breaks and Elden Ring brought back passive Poise. Can't really do that with low Vig.
I played almost the entire game without touching any arc rune cuz I thought the game removed embers and the great runes were always on lol.
