Should games let camouflage be effective? Even soldiers stand out as obvious silhouettes against all kinds of textures in most. Despite wearing any kind of camo
Should games let camouflage be effective...
Are these things purely pay to win schemes or can you get rid of them with machine guns/any sort of damage?
Depends on how simulation-esque the game is looking to be. I wouldn't want effective camouflage in Quake or UnReal Tournament, say.
At normal engagement distances, camo doesn't do shit.
Incorrect. I've seen FDF guys take a piss against a fir and only their head and boots were sticking out.
Had an entire squad of opposing force's rangers run past my team just a when we were sitting down for a breather innawoods.
at that rank everyone uses thermal anyways and the camo doesnt do shit about that
Maybe it is the case that the typical landscapes in the Finnish winter are just uniquely well-suited for camouflage?
No. There's a reason why Camo got adopted by just about everyone post WW2. Blending into the surrounding color scheme + breaking the silhouette of the bearer, be it a human being, a vehicle or even a building, provide a massive tactical advantage.
It's not that hard to cover yourself against IR and thermal imagining either. That too is something every 21st century Western force has been prioritizing for years now.
Every BDU is by default IR protected these days, and you can use both natural and synthetic cloaks to mask your thermal output.
>It's not that hard to cover yourself against IR and thermal imagining either
not in war thunder, which is what that screenshot is from
either way the tank is going to get destroyed by a jet
>not in war thunder,
Very aware of that, but OP's post was not limited to just that.
For some reason many MP devs are afraid of letting people use common tactical advantages like camo and common cover. Valve's been adding all sorts of artificial highlighting systems into CSGO throughout its life to make players "pop" from the maps, instead of letting players come up with tactics and counter-tactics for them.
And the jet gets destroyed by a camouflaged AA site.
swedegroid niggerwagon
>camouflaged AA site.
I hope that tech tree opens up in WT next. just a static AA position in spawn
imagine shilling this cancer russ*an p2w skinnerbox
WTs maps are too small for long range SAMs
that'll be $20 to use for 10 days
it has a high enough ceiling though not in ground maps
>super high camo
>insane rate of fire
>trollish frontal armor against most things except high calibre HEAT
>fast forwards and back
>even the tank traverse is insane, making flanking it difficult
This thing is the greatest MBT of all time
>Should games let camouflage be effective?
Only if f2p players can get camo
even earlier Soviet SAMs are too long range
the regular air battle maps are incredibly large. could put them in the plane tech trees
