I'm thinking KINO is on the menu.
FINAL FANTASY XVI
literally nobody gives a fuck
so is this the final FINAL fantasy ?
Waiting for them to show something more
This has been the least amount of marketing I've seen for a FF game in 30 years. It's almost like Square doesn't have any faith in it. On the flip side, maybe this is a good thing. Dragon Quest games usually stay totally silent until right before release, then blitz everyone with markting. But Final Fantasy usually spends like 5 years hyping their latest game. So it's odd.
Sounds like SE is learning to manage expectations rather than promise the world and deliver squat. I still remember all the "We're Here to Save Final Fantasy" pictures of XV and getting shit on when I'd say the little footage we had wasn't pointing towards a good game. Better to just keep quiet and deliver, like DQ does consistently.
The issue is Final Fantasy is massively front loaded. And gets all that front loaded hype over years of trailers and promises, even if it doesn't deliver. If they want to go the other route, they have to make a game that actually does deliver.
I want to play this fucking game but a PS5 is still fucking $800 and/or coupled with some awful fucking game like horizon or EA sports shit whyyyyyyyy
I'm really liking this "new" artist. Kazuya Takahashi right? Are they going to upload this artwork on their site?
I think they got caught up with the witcher 3 trend being old now
Just wait 1-2 years and it'll be on PC. Like 95% of the other games on PS5. This is going to be the least "exclusive" gen.
Considering how financially fucked Square right now, they probably will suck Timmy for an EGS exclusivity deal.
>Considering how financially fucked Square right now
How? They're doing better financially than they have in 20 years. Gachas, mobile games, their MMOs are raking in the cash and they have outside investments. It's just Square internal which is hurting. And even then, just certain games. Again, stuff like FFXIV and DQX are making more money than all their single player games combined.
Dunno, wasn't there a couple of threads a few days ago saying that Square is open for acquisition or something? I didn't bother reading the thread because I know it'll be nothing but console morons arguing which console makers is going to buy Square. But from the OP it seems like they're concerned about the rising price of AAA game development and are open to do more and more of these "joint-venture invested development" and can't afford to keep their studios. A couple of positive heads says this just means that Square will make less AAA game in house, but more collabs like they did with Stranger of Paradise (Koei Tecmo), Star Ocean (Tri-Ace). It could also mean they're going to try to get as many exclusivity deals to balance their development cost.
To add, it's getting clearer now why they're desperate for NFTs to took off. They probably promised NFTs to their shareholders, now they're fucked. Unless Forspoken/FFXVI/VIIR pt 2, sold really well, its possible we might see Square finally be brought out. Or scales down their operation really hard by not focusing much on AAA game development. I honestly prefer Square dialing down on their development budget and make more medium budget mainline FF games, rather than having them being brought up by Sony. But they are kinda screwed because of the flagship status of FF. I was hoping Yoshi-P would be the one who'd dial it down, but seeing how XVI's graphics is being improved, I don't see any way for Square to kick their old habit of going full retard with graphics.
Looks just like Final Fantasy XII.
Probably, the OP art was leaked from a pamphlet at tgs by an early attendee.
And yeah, love his art as well.
16 looks bland as fuck
like generic octopath mobile shovelware characters
xv did save ff though
In what way?
best launch sales of any ff ever
still selling better 6 years after release than any ff sold in 6 years from their release
>sales
Both the MMOs sold more than any single player FF game, including FFXV. And make more money in three months of subs than FFXV did in its lifetime. If anything, you should be amazed they bother making any single player FF games at all.
