Something I found helpful was the Google Lens translation function on Android.
If you have an android phone, you can open the google app, and click on the camera in the search bar. Then you can click on translate, and it will overlay the google translation on stuff you point it at.

there's an ios version of the google translate app that does the same thing. I use it a lot. machine translation isn't great for japanese, but it's more than good enough for menus and titles
