If Capcom did a full on remake like what they are doing to resident evil to DMC1, would you want it in line with the spirit of the original or updated with the vision of the Itsuno games? I'd personally prefer the ladder because remakes should be their own thing

New style all the way. The original is cool for the time it came out but its systems are too simple compared to what we have now. Expand Dante's arsenal for the game, he fights enough bosses that could drop him new weapons.

Ew. Just make Alastor and Sparda play different, that plus Ifrit and you have three DAs, the same as DMC4, enough. But it would be weird to have more guns than actual weapons as with E&I, Coyote, Nightmare and Grenade Launcher that makes four. So...any ideas?

So where was Yamato during DMC1? It was apparently on Mallet Island when it exploded, which is where the Order of the Sword found it, but where exactly was it? Did Mundus have it in a drawer somewhere?

They found the pieces of Nelo Angelo's armor there, supposedly, or not, they had Hell Gates in Fortuna, could have just gone exploring and found those, they also aquired the Devil Arms Dante gets in the game.

Except in that flashback Mundus doesn't even care about Yamato as he just destroyed it, much how Urizen just disregards the Sparda, and started creating Nelo. Vergil fought him in hell, so The Order went there or Yamato somehow ended up in the human world again.

I think in 5's prequel novel it said yamato just drifted around creating hell gates and Dante got out after 2's events through one of them

Fragments of the Yamato were dispersed through hell creating said portals. So The Order must have gotten the part we see here and later others, or Agnus tried recreating the rest but couldn't until Nero came around.

A lot of the things in DMC1 were pretty ill-thought out. The game's praise-worthy, but I'm fairly certain that the entire script for the game was just a first draft that someone wrote in an afternoon with zero revisions.
