Never played WOTLK before. Is it really peak WoW or just a reskin of vanilla with flying and ret paladins?

It's peak wow. If you enjoyed classic and classic tbc you'll enjoy this.

Peak WoW is unironically Mists of Pandaria if you care about PvP or fun rotations, WotLK is just when the game was at its most popular before Catacysm made everyone unsub.

What if I enjoyed classic and hated tbc?

>mop if you care about pvp
I hate mop niggers so much, pvp was literally unplayable for months because of hunter Stampede

It'll die in 1 month after release

means nothing, TBC was/is shit; classic and wotlk are the best and will never get better than wrath

tbc always sucked dick and people were telling you this at the start of its classic run

tanking is a lot more simple and boring which consist of mostly AOE spam.
Twinking is a lot more stronger than in games before wotlk, even a twinked level 70 can beat a 80 in prebis.

Its pretty boring with having to grind gear just to do heroic dungeons also.
Deathknights are kinda cool though I guess.

Everyone spec was viable, it was a good time have fun playing the game and not being a fotm faggot.

Oh yeh I forgot the mention it has the worst wpvp compared to vanilla and tbc. But I am not a batterd housewife that gives blizzard money so maybe itll be different or better than private server shit.

Not likely though.

same, i really didnt expect tbc to be so fucking bad, at least black temple and karazhan are enjoyable

yeah and so did Wrath

>enjoying Karazhan after your first run
how
its genuinely so fucking awful in everything but aesthetic. At least when mags is awful its in and out

wrath was the beginning of the end. i mean tbc was also the beginning of the end, but wrath was too except with gearscore.

In hindsight, old blizzard had a gigaton of balls taking their high fantasy tolkien esque world with wizards, knights, dragons and zombies etc.
And taking it into space, with literal spaceships, aliens, wormholes and lasers and shit, for their first expansion. I know theres lore there in the game's history and warcraft that sets a precedent for other planets and shit to begin with, but after hitting such a runaway success with vanilla, in hindsight I gotta give em credit for being brave

its definitely peak wow, its got its terrible flaws, but its the best that any MMO has ever been able to attain, it was lightning in a bottle like classic wow was, blizzard were too kiked out and warped at this point to even come close to emulating it, Cata was a disaster and a disgrace of an expansion that ruined wow forever. Wrath is it, its the peak, theres nothing better, and there wont be anything better until maybe Riots MMO or ashes of creation tops it.

If you wanna play, try it, just dont roll a deathknight for anything except open world farming, its like 40% of the server pop at this stage, you'll never get into any raid without a credit card.

worse modern wow

A lot of the team wanted to add on to the vanilla world as the first expansion. the team who wanted outland ended up winning in the end.

>but its the best that any MMO has ever been able to attain
This is what WoWbabbies actually believe. Your shitty trash heap of a game has always been a stain on the MMO genre and you're singlehandedly responsible for the state it's in now.

cope and seethe troon. nobody is ever "at fault" for enjoying an objectively good game, every paypig who was still subbed by the end of cata is at fault for retail wow turning into a shitfest, but i had quit in disgust by then.

It's nobodies fault if devs and money-men behind MMOs refuse to fund decent games, RMT, botting and gold buying is the real scourge of MMO playerbases and you're a fucking retard to think anything else is at fault. Anyone who willingly buys botted gold, or RMTs legally or otherwise for in game advantages ruins MMOs. If you think otherwise you're a fucking moron.

WoW isn't, and never was, an objectively good game. The only reason you think so is because you're the cancer WoW invited in.

Wrath was the end of the Classic trilogy, and the beginning of the end for WoW, Cataclysm killed WoW in the same way it killed old Azeroth.

The gameplay was what you were used to from Vanilla and TBC, but more polished, every spec was fun and while a few dominated in PvE or PvP, nearly all of them were viable and all of them were playable.

PvP was at its peak with arenas being so good there were private servers popping up during the lifespan of retail for people to just play more arena with all the QoL and no need for PvE.

Each server still had its own identity, people were excited to play.
That was also around the time heavy datamining really began to take place ruining one aspect of mystery and exploration of the game.

Then you'll have an even worse time with Wotlk. Ignore the marketer cope. It always kept going downhill with every expansion, yet people were still hyping up TBC until it actually happened.

It's very overrated expansion and I don't understand why it gets sucked off so much

It's just the Arthas hype. About the only good and memorable thing from it was the music and voicework. Everything else was lackluster from the story to PvP to raids.

The only reason it was peak WoW was because everyone was new. Now everything is datamined and min maxed. Unless you look at like a full time job you won't actually enjoy it.

It's when I enjoyed the game most, but it is really easy compared to TBC. Still, it has the best locations, the most enjoyable gameplay. I was in awe leveling up through it the first time

bitch please your opinions are cringe and garbage you got no business talking about MMOs at all, name a good mmo and why its good you soap boxing tryhard faggot.

because you didnt play it and you werent there.

You weren't there when we were in naxx25 discovering how crazy fun and powerful our classes made us feel.

Or how Ulduar blew everyone away with its near perfection of the raiding format.

ToC was a horrible, soulless disaster of a raid that shattered my growing belief that blizzard could do no wrong, but eventually it was replaced by ICC that was a lore touchstone for the entire game, you could literally unsub after downing the lich king and feel at peace RP-wise. It was also a great raid too, just a 8.5/10 raid compared to Ulduars 10/10.

Probably helps if you played Wc3 before

I started in TBC, I remember how braindead easy naxx and heroics were, I also remember how they made all the classes super homogenized. Not to mention gear becoming homogenized too, so much so that gearscore actually became an addon

>WoWbabby telling me I have no business talking about MMOs
Now that's good comedy. You seriously have no idea the damage your favorite lump of shit did.

tfw no tauren wife

>Classic Legion

3.3.5 Ret Paladins are boring. Peak Ret was in 3.0-3.1x when they still had Seal of Blood/Martyr and killed themselves on accident with big crits, not this slow 'build up 5 stacks until you can do any damage' nonsense
Peak vanilla Paladin was also way before 1.12, I'd say around 1.7

Weakest of the Classic trilogy by a mile. No Azjol'Nerub zone, dungeon finder, braindead easy content, removing raid progression, 2 of the worst BG's, Arthas is over used and comes off as a cartoon character at times etc

It makes up for it by having classes that are fun to play and generally it being very easy allows every retard to play it and feel like they are good at the game. Blizzard is arguing with the community that TOC gear should be nerfed and a lot of people are hiding behind the #nochanges argument because they just want free epics. This is the crowd Wrath brought with it and it's damaged WoW ever since.
