Has anyone played this...

Has anyone played this? Remember seeing it advertised back in 2009 and Red Steel 1 is a meme due to its shitty motion controls, but I heard this one was actually pretty good.

My motion plus won't work on this game.

It's really good.

yeah it was really good. Made great use of the motion plus add on.

I played it. It's great. One of the few games I'd consider getting a Wii to play ag6zin, not sure how well it emulates taking the controls into consideration.

It was pretty much the only game on the Wii that actually lived up to everybody's expectations of what motion controls would be like. In that sense, it's really fitting that it followed Red Steel 1--a launch title that everybody was disappointed with because the swordplay turned out to be shitty wagglan'. It's a shame the Wii didn't have the Wii motion plus from the start.

It actually is. It’s a shame that IR controls aren’t a thing right now so that it can be ported or get another sequel.

I dropped it like 30 mins in and I still don't know why.

Red Steel 2 fulfills the promise of Red Steel 1 and the Wii in general because Wii Motion Plus let it achieve what it wanted instead of being awkward shooting and then awkward melee fighting.

I really liked the 1st, even though it was shit. Might have been the bloom lighting and the Dock stuff that made me want to be there.

Yeah, I got this on release day. I was a fan of the first one, despite its flaws. 2 was an improvement in every way. Worth a run through if you can.

Has there been an FPS with this setting before or since? It has a niche.

>entire game people fellate that super durable meteor katana
>protag just snaps it in half at the end

Red Steel 1 is a surprisingly good looking game for the time. The only thing it was missing was being 720p like the higher-end games of the time.

I absolutely love japanese western style and it's one of 2 games that utilizes it. Always wanted to play it as a teen, but we were too poor to afford Wii. Now I can afford it, but can't be bothered with buying a console for just one game or tinkering around with emulators. Still, that's one gestalt that will never be closed.

Really fun and short, lives up to the switching between guns and your blade you expected in the first game.

It was really good, one of the few games that really used motion control. The art style is great too.

I got it. It's fine. I think it was overpraised a little at the time despite selling poorly. There's just a lack of variety all around. Same environments, same combat, the game doesn't really evolve much.

Still, a decent 7/10 sort of thing.

It's only mistake was coming out so late in the Wii's life (same with Motion Plus in general which people STILL think meant older games somehow changed with it when they didn't). Although my favorite game on the Wii is either S&P, Sports Resort (although boxing from the first game was missing), the Trauma Center games, Excite Truck, or Galaxy 2. All for different reasons.

Now I want to play the Wii again. Thanks.

I played it on release, loved it, the setting and artsyle are Kino

Almost forgot Madworld and the first NMH game. I'm hooking the Wii up later today now.
