Your body cant absorb zinc oxide which is what comes in cheap multivitamins, zinc citrate is absorbed better enough to be worth it but zinc in multivitamins in general is bullshit that you will pee it right away.
For dinner I always have chicken or soup, nothing changed in 20 years of my life. I never consumed any diet supplements such as multivitamins and I rarely go outside, my body essentially functions without various vitamins and aside from occassional muscle spasms, I don't feel like I'm lacking in anything. Am I wrong?

Daily multis generally have just the daily recommended amount, maybe more or less depending on the nutrient. Absorption is better if you take one with food. It really depends what we're talking about since they typically include 30-50 different nutrients, all with different absorption rates, but it's generally a good idea to have one daily especially if you aren't eating great.
I would not take other supplements because those are hyper dosed and they've been repeatedly shown to cause problems, or to just be "peed away". Again, depending on the nutrient.

Daily reminder taking general nutrition advice is completely worthless. Depending on your genetic/race will completely change your dietary needs. Some people are better off on a plant based diet will other thrive on a meat based. For some people milk; although it doesn't make them sick takes more nutrients to digest then you get back, for others it's a super food and better then water. Some people can't digest corn. If you feel fine then everything is fine and don't sweat it.
