You'd still be able to take advantage of that if L were the Jump button.
Doing Ground Boost -> Hold Up -> Jump (full press) -> Up Boost -> Side Boost
would be easier if I didn't have to rely so much on the D-pad boost while my right-thumb travels from A button to C buttons.
