They are a key component in quests and you WILL get softlocked into grinding other means of obtaining them until they create a proper fix for it.

I think it's all right I'm having fun with it. It feels like animal crossing, but tailored to people who would adjust their clock the moment they ran out of stuff to do in a day. There's always some checklist to complete and hardly anything is time gated aside from the dream shards I mentioned, but this appears to be an oversight rather than deliberate game design.
I really like a lot of the clothes I've gotten so far, though most of what I've unlocked seems more tailored to women rather than men, but the create a clothes feature is really cool and lets you take designs you unlock in game to create whatever you want. Kind of like custom patterns in animal crossing, but no option to free draw and instead use what they give you.
I've seen a lot of posts say it's a mobile game but I don't really know what in it constitutes mobile game territory or not.
