What even is the future of this franchise? Disney has effectively discontinued it since 2018 but has held the property rights in limbo. They haven't sold it back to its original creators, they haven't even referenced it in like 4 years.
What gets me is that all those fucking private servers were hugely popular, tens of millions of player accounts. All those people, many new to the game, willing to play it again. Does Disney not like money? What have they got to lose.
Anyway, I'm just upset this silly, wonderful MMO is gone.
What even is the future of this franchise...

Disney, despite being the largest media company in the world, still haven't gotten a foot in the door of videogames.
All of their franchises' only get games when they're licenses by other studios.
Club Penguin they bought since they thought it would have been easy money, but their incompetence led them to destroying the brand.
And Disney, since they don't make games, aren't going to bring it back by themselves.
There have been talks that Disney might purchase EA, since the two already have a strong working relationship.
If that ever comes to pass, than EA likely will shift to making only Disney-licensed games and sports titles.
Club Penguin, as one of the few video game franchises Disney owns, will probably be rebooted by EA.
Even if the game hasn't been around for a while, the appeal of an online social thing with penguins and minigames never faded.
So it will probably come back should Disney decide to branch into gaming
I don't know if the game was built on Flash, but given how it was discontinued, CP's days were always numbered.
Also the Disney crossovers showed the company didn't know what to do with Club Penguin anymore (besides CP Island).
They told me to waddle on... but waddle on where?
Waddle on deez nutz
>gone
There's a private server you can play on.
Disney were pretty retarded. They thought mobile games were the future and killed Club Penguin to try and bring it back to life in Club Penguin Island.
And that went beautifully as we all know.
But the Club Penguin fan remakes have proven it can work smoothly with HTML5
Didn't CP rewritten get shut down?
i used to LOVE this game. spent hours just walking aroud my igloo pretending it had loads of stuff in it (wasnt a member so didnt get the cool furniture). all my friends at school played bin weevils instead so i couldnt even invite them over, just ran my penguin around a near-empty igloo and it was the most fun thing in the world.
think my first ever jack off was to puffles jumping on a penguin too
There's a new one now, called "newcp".
Club Penguin Rewritten is being investigated by the British Police. I had an account on there.
Club Penguin Online was more similar to the later club penguin which I personally don't like as much, we all know why thats taken down.
>think my first ever jack off was to puffles jumping on a penguin too
wait what
Yeah, I mean it wasn't a dumb move to make Club Penguin mobile games, they could have made an appstore free version of every Club Penguin minigame and then put adds in it and made a nice margin.
But they killed the version which was the most developed and the one people had nostalgia for and tried to replace it with one which was even more exploitative and money-grubbing.
So the old fans got pissed, those who only were interested because of nostalgia lost interest, and even the children realized they were being given a far worse replacement.
Perhaps the reason Disney still hasn't gotten into video games is because they have no fucking idea what they're doing
idk it might have been the way my child brain thought of breasts but two squishy balls was just a hot as FUCK concept for me. thinking of them jumping all over a penguin and him feeling them with his flippers did it for me somehow. honestly its a wonder i never became a furry
For me, it's Cart Surfer.
Cart Surfer was definitely the best for getting coins. I personally liked the fishing one, comfy game
Can we all agree them converting the previously hidden & based Dojo to that card game bullshit was the beginning of the end for CP?
>email domain whitelist system
I was this close to creating an account
i liked that shit when i was young
i still have a small deck of cardjitsu cards
>card game bullshit
Jesus fuck, Card Jitsu was one of the best parts of CP. More the progression aspect than the game but it was still glorious.
Remember when they made a platform crossover and they mandated that you could ONLY play with characters in their own, canon worlds and nowhere else, pretty much nullifying the point of a crossover?
For me? The original PSA missions
>Tfw I had plushies, figurines, sets, books, DS and Wii games of Club Penguin stuff
>have the fondest memory of "voice chatting" with my friend on the phone as we played Card Jitsu Fire together
