Temtem

>1.0 is released tomorrow
>only 61 people playing it right now
What went wrong?

they/them actually thought they could compete directly with pokemon

No children on steam, thus the pedogrooming didn't take root. If this was released on consoles it probably would have gotten more traction.

Does temtem have seasons?

pokemon doesnt work outside of nintendo consoles for obvious reasons

I was interested in this game until I saw "they/them" in the menu, it was literally the moment I knew the game was going to fail.

Are wokies even capable of making a good game or was it just euros being retarded once more?

Turns out people like the pokemon brand more than they like the core gameplay, so NotPokemon will always have a major disadvantage

If your monster collecting game doesn't have monsters I care about I am most likely not going to play it.

I've had a look at Temtem gameplay and I'm kind of interested by the stamina mechanic, I think it's something I prefer over Pokémon's more archaic PP system. But man the monsters are just bland and unappealing. I wish companies looking to rip off Pokémon would just take the leap and ape Pokémon's art style as well.

Bad monster design, no one cares. Simple as.

stupid name
ugly game
pokemon gay

Turns out MMO features and shitty designs are a recipe for disaster.
People don't play PokeMMO because it's an MMO. They play it because it's Pokemon, despite PokeMMO amplifying all the worst aspects of Pokemon.
Temtem doesn't have the world's biggest IP backing it up and a legion of paypigges to lap up the slop.

>Servers are offline
>DURR WHY IS NOBODY PLAYING

Early access, that's what happened, fuck early access, I don't want to play a broken game with barely any features because it's still in development, nor play it once it releases after years of jerking off and with everyone bored of it.

I play pokemmo because it has a bunch of regions, well-adjusted difficulty, ocarinas, and following pokemon.
If I just wanted pokemon I'd be a showdown ape.

Thread should end here but guaranteed 500 replies regardless.

I mean, they probably made a fuckton of money in that like 1 week it was popular

Was this the one that replaced all the fighting with dance off bro, you and me? Or was that Ooblets?

Yeah, that's a really big part of it, you can do literally everything gameplay wise perfectly, and still not get much traction if your NotPokemon creatures look shit. You might get the competitive battler types, but the majority of Pokemon players just like catching/collecting/trading the cool critters, and building a team from their favorites.

Pokemons creature designs have been abysmal dogshit for the last 2 gens.
Designs argument is a cope.

I need to go back to pokemmo at some point, I played it some and I was actually digging the level cap on gyms, I guess a lot of people bitched about it being too hard over the years, but actually having to build a team and not just over leveling was pretty fun

Pokemon can afford to coast on it's success, I'm pretty sure it could indefinitely be like those celebrities that are famous for being famous at this point. If you're an indie dev trying to get people interested in your game though, your designs absolutely matter

They were selling them for $40 bucks a pop and are some bumfuck small studio in madrid of like 20 people.
There is simply no way this game didn't make money.

Playercount wise I guess it's a failure but the money has already been made, Ironically you can say the same about basically every Pokemon game since they all crater in playercount after launch as well.
