Altergeist is only boring and repetitive because they are an extremely xenophobic archetype but half their cards are peepee poopoo garbage so you end up seeing the same 5 cards over and over again. Fixing some of their shitty cards would make them way less gay.

I consider it more "saving" your own monsters, especially when Sheou can bring them back from the GY so you can bounce them back to the hand with Tidying and/or Downtime.
