Hi, which version should i play?
snes or gba?
Yoshi's island
GBA with the SNES color restoration hack.
snes, no brainer
snes
GBA has too much screen crunch for all of those snes ports bruh
Play Donkey Kong Country instead
+ fucked up colors
If the query is "SNES or GBA", always pick SNES. The bonus shit they give you isn't worth the hassle of the patches that don't even give you 1:1 clarity on the sound OR the saturation/colors. Same with Final Fantasies and everything else.
If you must play a GBA game, make it some of the really fun Dragon Ball games for it like SuperSonic or the Legacy of Goku games, barring the first.
Or give give the Banjo-Kazooie Grunty's Revenge game a try.
GBA has Yoshi's Story sound effects so it sounds a bit better.
Actual good question.
GBA Pros
>8 secret levels that don't exist in the SNES version
>Points requirements for the original 6 extra stages lowered to 800 points instead of 100% completion of a world
GBA Cons
>Looks and sounds like pure shit
>I think Yoshi uses his Story sounds
The one on SNES Mini.
The GBA version has some bonus levels, but the SNES version doesn't have screen crunch, has better graphics, and better audio.
*6 secret levels
gba has extra levels but looks and sounds worse
i think there's also a romhack for snes with those levels, but it replaces the main game so have two roms
otherwise only thing you're missing is yoshi's noises which are cute but unnecessary
>Yoshis Story noises
Absolute dealbreaker, take the SNES version OP.
autism
Why would you want to break up the chill atmosphere and music of the game with constant retarded baby babble sounds? Marios crying is enough.
Yeah I don't get why they thought the noises were necessary to add.
The GBA has the terrible pozzed Yoshi's Story voice SFX for Yoshi, screen crunch and fucked up colors. Go with the SNES original. Those extra new levels are dogshit and not worth it.
Skip it and move on to DS which is far and away the better game
Excellent bait or a pure zoomer take. Artoon/Arzest Yosh titles will always be bottom of the barrel shovelware compared to the original Nintendo EAD masterpiece.
GBA, that way you can put it in your pocket so you can play it anywhere you want to! I love technology!
