hard to say. it's difficult in the sense you'll need to quicksave every fight and look up character guides for everything since you get hard countered. on the other hand, everything is meticulously handcrafted and it's a good successor to Fallout's gayplay (but with much better and improved mechanics) in exchange for a much duller, sterile setting.

Just play until junkyard and get btfod and replay the first part when you have a better feel for combat.
But yes, prepare to reload almost every encounter even on pretty decent builds.
It really is a great game though.

I gave up on a terribly ass melee/throwing/traps build on my second character some 20 hours into it. No, you can't respec if you accidentally fucked yourself over. But the most obvious filter is only a few hours in and you should know to restart there already. So it doesn't have to be so bad. It's basically the end of the tutorial boss area
Third time seems to be the charm. Now it's been smooth sailing almost from the start

It's one of those games that take 20 hours to get interesting, but when it does it's fucking mint. Plus the DLC is amazing.
Also Deep Caverns is the best part of the game. Fight me faggots.
