It's good, but I feel like I would have liked more even sections with Artyom alone in more expansive underground sections
I tried replaying Last Light recently and the amount of scripted events and cutscenes interrupting the gameplay made me uninstall it again.
eh, it's fun for a playthrough
>what I want from the franchise: freely explore the metro and get rich selling shit I loot
>what I get from the franchise: handholdy survival shooter
Exodus really taught me to have low expectations, because despite the OPEN WORLD MAPS (!), they quickly give up on that in favor of same old same old as the game goes on. It's really frustrating. Mechanically it is fun, but the levels are super boring.
yeah I enjoy it
I still haven't played them since I heard the mouse input is shit.
Where did you hear that? I had no problems.
>Ukrainian games
fuck no
What's with all the markup on that map?
i liked the first game, second is kinda meh and i haven't played Exodus
I wasn't able to get into it. No exploration in an interesting world is idiotic.
What do you mean? It's supposed to be an in-universe map. You can call it a bit awkward looking, but that's what you get from fanmade stuff.
both metro books are the only books i have ever read. loved the first two games, played them both on the hardest difficulty. my cup of tea. the new one, i tried it and it was so buggy (same month it released) it really left it a bitter taste in my mouth so i never touched it again.
It's clear they suck at it because the game gets good when they return to a metro.
>they quickly give up on that in favor of same old same old
Because the open world wasn't working out for them. The dev team's strengths lie in making a single hallway and making that one hallway feel twenty times more alive and vibrant than any open world bushhiding schlock Ubisoft puts out, not in copying ubisoft's already beaten to death horse.
Hence why Yamantau, Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk DLC are the best parts of Exodus
I hated that fucking level because the worm spit is undodgeable when you're on a boat.
The fuck? It's not Ubisoft open world, its STALKER open world.
I played the first one, it was fun. By the time the second came out I just played stalker instead. such is what happened with the third one. and such is what is happening now. I see this thread, I say metro was fun why did I never play more? I look at the anomaly exe on my desktop, I say I could just play stalker instead.
such is metro.
I dunno. It's a really bizarre thing to see. Clearly based on an older map.
replaying exodus its fucking awful to play on ranger. Enemies clip and shoot you through walls and forcing you to stealth to get the best ending with its absolute dogshit stealth mechanics. I did it once when it first released and was replaying it this month and all my memories of what a shit time I had came flooding back. First two games worked as more linear narratives, semi open world fucked it up. Then they wasted however much money implementing Ray tracing when it looks like shit since half their floor and wall textures look worse than the PS2 on ultra
>Crafting system where two resources create everything under the sun
>Not ubisoft
First two games have one of the most atmospheric settings I've seen, but are very linear. Second goes for a sort of hub-based open world thing where you go from open area to open area. It's a fine game, but very different from the other two. The tunnel sections are pretty good. Gameplay is honestly pretty standard shooter fare, with some fun touches for atmosphere, and a lot of love put in weapon design and feel.
I like the games a lot, but if you don't go for the type of atmosphere they bring to the table, they're just competent shooters.
I liked them as shooters. When Last Light wanted me to stealth trough shit it got incredibly frustating tough. Haven't played Exodus yet.
then you'll hate exodus even more, being called a monster by everyone in game because you shoot a native instead of stealthing for 4-6 hours around their camps instead
