That seems to be the general concensus. Too much wanking to their success, 4th wall breaks, jabs at the fans, turning Rick into a a god, and "deep" lore that's shallow as a puddle, along with inconsistent writing. Plus the show's comedy for the past seasons is dreadful. Even modern day Family Guy can ooze our more jokes a season than Rick and Morty.

What kind of turned me off the most was the phoned in improv after interdimensional cable. They used it as a low effort crutch where nonsense became the joke to the point of audience insult. If nothing else it at least uses the fact that it's animated to it's advantage. Most adult animation is so abysmally boring, characters walk into frame, stand still, and spout dialogue. I have no idea how people can stand that stuff. Even King of the Hill which was trying to be as mundane as possible is more lively than a lot of current shows because the characters would emote and it'd do camera changes as if it were a live action show.
