yeah i remember playing this on launch and thinking "man, this is so fucking boring and such a chore. but very impressive all in all" lmao. i liked 3 though. but that's the only one i ever bothered to play

They're all bad since 2, 2 was somewhat neat and had good grafix, but it really wasn't very good, it's that kind of game that expects you to "make" your own fun.

People keep shilling this game but the guns are so incredibly cursed and the world is bland.

Yeah, the environment and setting ARE cool. Too bad everything you do in it is boring

I liked driving around the savanna killing deer and burning hills, but now we have better games for that feeling

I'm currently playing primal and it's fun

I think FC2 suffered from being rushed out, this is why it is so repetitive and also lacks focus. but it had some incredible ideas/mechanics/graphics for the time.

FC2 is quite different tho from the first and all the other successors are kinda more of the same.

Yeah but you have to shoot a shitless dude 15 times with an assault rifle for him to die, and sometimes they get back up so you have to shoot them 10 more times. And then you leave the camp for 5 seconds and the guy respawns and you have to do it all over again. Fucking Wolfenstein 3D had better "shoot ppl" mechanics than this

Only the first Far Cry is good.

I dropped it when it turned into some shitty doom3 clone, but yeah, the first part was fucking mindblowing back in the day, all my consoleshitter friends were so fucking jealous when they saw the first level with the jungle and vehicles.

FC2 isn't a hand holding ADHD simulator so naturally the children of Any Forums don't like it.

FC2 is my favorite out of them all. Although I HIGHLY suggest getting a mod that lowers enemy health. Goons tanking half a mag of 7.62 NATO makes the game drag

the respawns are fucking annoying ya, but if you have good guns it's not too bad. If you find it boring though just play 3

It's an odd one, and is not like any of the other Far Cry games. Just know that you're in the world as a foreign entity, where everything is trying to kill you from various African factions to malaria creeping up. Guns jam and break, and you can never catch a break.

Don't forget to take advantage of the quick save feature, as well.

Sounds like you got filtered, maybe the later FCs are better suited for you

Psst quicksave on PC isn't a single quicksave slot that keeps getting overwritten - it creates a whole new save each time you mash F5 so your save folder will balloon in size if you aren't ware of it.

Oh I'm aware of that, but I was hoping OP or whomever is trying not to get filtered by this game would figure that out for themselves; you know, like the rest of the game mechanics and environment. The fun comes from figuring things out for yourself, rather than being spoonfed all the way.
