The difficulty in the US version actually improves the game, but not in the way you'd expect. In my case, the entire experience was so fucking ghastly I couldn't stop thinking about CV3 for a few days after finishing it, and I didn't do the lower route.

I have, it's heavily overrated and one of my least favorite classivania games, feels too easy and level design is empty corridors way too often.

Inverted castle is drawn-out painful garbage while the chaotic realm is short and sweet. They took the same concept and straight improved it. Just like AoS improved SotN as a whole.
