They give you all the powers in the prologue, then kick you in the balls by taking them away.

a really fun game, that desperately needs a new edition

Mediocre open world copied from Activision era Spider-man games with shitty repetitive 'missions' and clunky combat

fun game with a bullshit mission halfway in the game

I thought it was lifted directly from Hulk Ultimate Destruction cause it shared some of the staff.
But yeah Hulk Ultimate Destruction is ultimately a more solid, concise game.

really popular design of the era for some reason
Darksiders did the same

The true successor to hulk ultimate destruction
mildly interesting/addicting side content (web of intrigue)
if you lock on to something before using tentacle barrage, a tendril will snipe it (useful for annoying flyers)
also the tentacle barrage does more damage if you use the grounded version
critical pain is more fun though
also hammerfist a best

Lots of games during that era did that shit for some reason. I hate this.

a bad port.

You can throw cars at people.

Grade A fucking around simulator

Larping as HUNK to spinkick zombies and muties in the face.

>the series of missions after you get infected with a parasite that sucks all of your power
That shit was a pain in the dick.

A lot of fun and destruction, plus really seamless locomotion and parkour. Prototype was fantastic.

Fun to dick around in for an hour or two, fucking miserable to play through to story end. I bought it for PS4 a few months back because I only played the PC port before, and it controls so much worse than I remember. The difficulty spikes hard between story missions with a particularly nasty spike right near the end. It's a game that would benefit profoundly through modern technology and reworking a few mechanics, but that'll never, ever happen.

Really fun game but has little replayability due to the sandbox being nothing more than your destruction playing field with no dynamic consequence aside from the dozens of minigames, which are fine on their own but obviously add no depth or substance beyond the surface.
For example the scripted parts of the main story are very enjoyable, especially for me when you're disguised as a soldier and have to help them fight off the horde, or when you're in a huge scripted 3-way fight between yourself, the infected, and military. That sort of stuff just doesn't happen on that grand of a scale in the sandbox and the lack of dynamic scripted encounters in the free roam makes the sandbox boring after a few hours.
We thought 2 was gonna be this game but better in every way, but they never tackled the lack of a dynamic free roam and continued to throw mini games + they made the story incredibly annoying and subversive to the narrative of the first game which even if you didn't care at all about the first game, the annoying dialogue and story path in Prototype 2 is still off putting and detracts from the experience. It's similar to Borderland 2's constant tiring barrage of unfunny memes and references which the first game didn't have, changing the narrative of the setting from "everyone on this planet has lost their mind because it's fucking tough out here and we don't even care anymore" vs "actually we are all just memelords 420 lol, explosions are epic"

It was fun for like that one week in 2009. I never beat it and haven't touched it since.

>Played it for a week
>Didn’t finish it

How? The story missions are the only part that’s actually interesting, the side content gets old after 10 minutes

I was 16, easier to stay committed to getting through boring games back then.

literally doesn't run on win10 without fixes.
