the game died because blizzard is filled with retards and because the game unironically relies on way too many elements that the user has no control over; so many different maps with completely different metas was a death wish for normies which didn't feel like learning and keeping up with that shit, the reason why league is still alive is precisely because once you get your hero down, that's it, nothing else matters, the map is always the same and always played the same
good luck trying to explain to a casual how to play with or against abathur/lost vikings or that he shouldn't play his favorite hero on this one map
