Cloud gaming will be the next generation of video games whether you like it or not. There will be no reason to get a PS6 or xbox series x2. There will also be no reason to get a 2000$ PC especially with the chip shortages, labour shortages, and inflation. Geforce now 3080 tier is almost exactly like playing on a local PC. I give it another 2 years until the difference is non existent and Xbox xcloud gets out of beta. Cloud gaming will go mainstream. AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY
Cloud gaming will be the next generation of video games whether you like it or not...
true and real. i predict 500 replies + archived.
As soon as you overcome the laws of physics to eliminate the input lag.
We just need to improve the infrastructure.
Light can travel around the earth 7.48 times in 1 second, so the laws of physics definitely allow for instant communication.
Funny thing if that becomes reality then the people building 2k-3k PCs will still be saving more money in the long run due to free games from piracy.
It's like people who say console gaming is cheaper and they only talk about the initial price of the console and leave out the 70 dollar games and online subscriptions.
Input lag is almost non existent on Geforce Now but on the other cloud gaming services it's quite bad.
Sure bro, it’ll totally happen. Just like VR took off, right?
lol
LMAO
>Cloud gaming will be the next generation of video games whether you like it or not.
I can't say how many times I've been hearing this. You should tell this to stadia developers, they would be very happy to hear that.
Also, I hate the antichrist.
ps6 and xbox series x two will certainly happen, i estimate around 25%-30% of games will be played through streaming platforms by that point. but that's not enough to warrant companies to abandon old school machinery just yet. even ps7 and xbox series x two two will most likely happen but there's big possibility that those are gonna be so called hybrid consoles which do most stuff streaming straight to the vr brain implants
It is not like VR. with Cloud gaming you are SAVING money and getting the same or better experience
No, shut the fuck up you retarded monkey
>input lag
>horrible framepacing
>macroblocking, shit image quality
>no HDR
>no high refresh rate, no VRR
>no modding at all
>obviously always online drm garbage
>you own nothing, you just lose money on subs
>no piracy
>no preservation
If that shit is "the future" then that future will have to go on without me.
>or better
How the fuck would you have a BETTER experience than having the hardware locally and running it? You need to put a gun in your mouth, immediately.
Input latency deals with milliseconds so your point is moot.
Also we don't have a medium that even allows for such speeds. There are always issues such as data packet loss rate.
You can thank NASA for such breakthroughs.
It's amazing that they can get over 40mb/s at a distance of over 100 million miles (from Mars to Earth).
Heck NASA still gets communications from Voyager which is over 14 billion miles away and the tech is around 45 years old.
>CLOUD GAMING IS…LE BAD!
Why? It’s objectively pro consumer.
>Cheaper than buying consoles or PC
>Don’t have to buy games, they’re part of the subscription
>No need to take up space in your house with more electronics
>Saves money on electric bill
>inb4 I HAVE TO CONSOOOOOOM MORE GPU’S!!!!
>the technology is shit now so it will be shit forever
Any Forums would have been the luddites destroying the machines in the industrial revolution
Input latency deals with milliseconds so your point is moot.
Yes I know that.
That means that it takes 130ms for light to do a full rotation of the earth. Now it would be retarded to do a full rotation of the earth, because the data centre, at the absolute worst case scenario is going to be on the exact opposite side of the globe, which is 65ms away.
Chances are though that you will have a data centre very close to you, at least on the same continent, so it would be more like 10ms realistically, which is faster than the human response time of 100-200ms.
Its physically possible to have instant communication. The infrastructure just isn't there. But that's not to say it won't be there in the future.
>input lag
oh wow an extra 20ms
>horrible framepacing
non-issue with 120fps
>macroblocking, shit image quality
Non-issue with good internet
>no HDR
There is HDR and RTX
>no high refresh rate, no VRR
Geforce now already has VRR and 120fps
>no modding at all
barely anyone plays games with mods
>obviously always online drm garbage
No piracy = happy developer
>you own nothing, you just lose money on subs
meanwhile spends 1k on a new GPU while barely using
>no piracy
already answered
>no preservation
? you can save your game if you mean that.
Cloud streaming haven't improved since onlive
You will own nothing and you will be happy
>plus:
>>Don’t have to buy games, they’re part of the subscription
Oh noes, he's mentally retarded.
it is though.
I want physical copies for my physical console.
If no one offers that, I go full retro.
Fuck the industry.
Modern games aren’t even worth replaying so who gives. a so who gives a damn whs give
>barely anyone plays games with mods
>tfw cloud gaming
I will never pay for a subscription, ever.
The moment I am required to even get CLOSE to a subscription, I will set up a win10 computer and go offline on it to preserve all of my pirated + legal games, + all of my mods in there, forever, and abandon modern gaming alltogether. You can keep your cyberpunk 2 and your nigger simulator 4. Matter of fact, I'm already spending more time doing other things.
Life is good.
>input lag
no
