>Has seals and staves that scale with split INT & FTH >Has entire schools of magic & incantations that scale with split INT & FTH >Has no affinity to give weapons split INT & FTH scaling, and only one (1) weapon in the whole game with good natural int/fth scaling
Why? Hard to believe its an oversight in Elden Ring when they had INT/FTH scaling infusions in previous games like Dark/Chaos in DaS3. Maybe this is something they'll add in a DLC?
Knowing From they probably did and it all got cut at some point. They do that a lot.

>why doesn't my pure mage/ priest build also get great melee weapons
Joshua Myers
>Why? because you're already getting both types of magic and hybrid magic.

and? The INT/FTH spells on a split build are noticeably weaker than doing a pure build in each due to lower individual stats input, and the actual split int/fth scaling spells & incantations are mostly a bit shitty for some reason.
They didn't have a problem with adding split fth/int scaling for weapons in previous games.
The main issue is in how shitty those incants are, having a setup that takes longer to "complete" but is stronger than simpler options is a typical RPG thing, but pure fth or pure int casters are much better builds Golden Order spells are even more stupid than Death ones considering by the time you get the GO book every major boss has huge holy resistance
Caleb Carter
Pretty gay to not include some form of dark or chaos.

>playing ER with anything but ultra weapons with jump R2 attacks
The lack of int/FTH scaling, despite the marriage of INT & FTH playing a major part in the lore (Radagon & Rennala) seems like a big hole left there on purpose to be filled in later.
I wouldn't be surprised at all in we get INT & FTH added in a DLC, with the DLC story being linked to that theme in some way. Possibly a Miquella focused DLC.
I tried to make a hex build and use the death sorceries but they all fucking suck to the point of being useless. Ancient Death Rancor does like 200 damage at 45/45 faith/int thats retarded
Levi Brooks
Because split scaling is dogshit in ER because of the massive stat requirements for little payoff, the only thing you'd get is more variety of tools just like how quality does but lower overall damage for everything. Hell, even Radagon rescpec'd into pure FTH once he saw how unoptimized his shit was.
Oliver Smith
Yeah I wanted to make a death/grim reaper RP, all the gear is there for it including the cool looking reaper and related spells, but the spells are sucky and there's no INT/FTH affinity to add to the reaper to make use of of the int/fth scaling.
Are you seriously asking why the path of turtle pope and goldmask doesn't have a ton of weapons? Your character may be smart, but you sure as shit aren't.
Jonathan Collins
come to think of it, why isn't the golden order greatsword an INT/FTH weapon? the lore even backs it up >given by Rennala to Radagon as a marriage gift >supposedly originally a moonlight greatsword before Radagon altered it into a FTH weapon >Radagon is a Golden Order fundamentalist, fundamentalism being a school which utilizes both faith and intelligence
Bentley Russell
The reason there's only one decent weapon is because spells are better in this game, so when splitting two spell-casting stats obviously that should be the focus. Whatever weapon you have is secondary, it's a backup to your spell damage. Basically In previous games you would need more melee weapons to cater to them, because spellcasting sucked. But here you get one sword because it's a backup anyway. A purely split INT/FTH build casting a spell with the right staff can give you some of the best spell damage in the game.
INT/FTH scaling is more interesting in ER because it's split between Golden Order Fundementalism, and death sorceries, which both rival each other.

>no hybrid casting tool to let you use the FTH/INT spells and incantations easily together
Jaxon Bailey
>he INT/FTH spells on a split build are noticeably weaker than doing a pure build in each due to lower individual stats input
This is false. With a 50/50 split the prince of death's staff outperforms gelmir, which is only the most powerful because it boosts the damage at the cost of more FP. So an even split INT/FTH build not only gives you more options for types of spells but for sorceries it's objectively better for damage and FP consumption. It's only a shame its boost to death sorceries is pointless because of how few and useless most of them are.
