I don't understand how "cultists" can defend that the games engine is so fucking outdated. I hate mentioning WoW, but you immediately feel the difference and how more fluent and enjoyable it Is for the server to not have to update every 2 seconds. Even after playing since Heavensward release it still sucks.

Never in my life have I seen a group of people get as defensive over "not liking what I like" as XIV trannies.

Most people do get butthurt if you're trolling or trashing a game they like but this shit is next level. Even the most transparent trolling attempts send you faggots into snarling keyboard smashing tantrums.

If MMORPGS could do this over 20 fucking years ago I dont know why FF XIV couldnt. It probably has to do with being able to run on ps3 and 360 but those consoles arent even supported anymore.

I quit during Heavensward. In short, the game didn't live up to my expectations of what a MMORPG should be. It's overworld felt small, stale, and safe. There is no sense of danger or exploration anymore. The instanced queues removed the soul of community from the servers. Gear progression felt very vertical which just exacerbated the fatigue from the grind. Dungeon design was pretty much the same three act structure with very little variety. The community grew to be mostly intolerable entitled fuckwits. And lastly, a lot of shit felt borrowed or like hollow copies of stuff from XI and other FFs; I get that it's kind of a celebration of the series, but initially it was just off-putting and made me wish I was playing XI instead. It also really didn't help that my FC group were horrible at communication and coordination, but it was pretty par for the course amongst most other pick ups. The art and music were pretty good though, and the story/characters were alright.
