Just make sure to keep an eye on what server he joins (or don't allow allow him to play online at all)
Also don't let your kid look up the game on YouTube because some weird shit will probably show up

The monsters might scare them and you’ll need to help them when they get scared but I used to play Zelda 1 on NES around that age and it didn’t bother me none (disregarding the risks at this point).
The risks are that videogames oppress children’s genes that make them outgoing, so they will become more quiet and inwardly thinking. Which will make them incapable as fathers that can take care of a family when they grow up unless they balance it with more onions eating and chest hair. Jesus is the only way. I've realized as I've grown up and got a life that video games and the internet are probably the two things that truly stunted my childhood. I have gained no true skills from the internet or video games that could not also be gained from just reading a book or actually doing it in real life. Most the information I have obtained from the internet is useless and serves no practical purpose in my life. Meanwhile, the internet has provided society as a whole social tension, porn addicted spineless males, vapid egotism for females, and a generation that is unable to actually talk in person. Sure, video games are fun, but as a kid they were far too addictive and I know this also applies to 90% of kids who play video games. The social aspect of video games is no better than the single player one. It's not real communication. The physical "benefits" of video games are negligible and pale in comparison to just working out and doing real world skills.
I only realized when I turned 23, after my entire childhood was over, that vidya and internet distracted me from having a fully realized social life. I have been in constant catch up since I was essentially a closed up loser for my entire teenage years. I think this was due to a lack of a father figure. Even to this day, I'm still suffering from an addiction to the internet.
So I won't be making it a point to allow my child to just waste his years on a video game. I won't be buying him video games or consoles. He can earn it himself. I'll instead engage him in real skills and help him develop in real, practical areas. Fuck Minecraft. Fuck video games. Fuck the internet. It's all a giant con.
