A mistake? they were a disaster
Can I start the franchise with Black Mesa?
Black mesa is for people who already played half life 1
Don't do it.
Episode 1 just plain sucks
2 was cool because of the car and shit but overall none of the setpieces are as interesting or varied as HL2
Shouldn't even need to mention 3
Valve are easily near the top of the list for most overrated deva of all time.
No
Play the original
I was to say no, but actually yes.
Sin episodes, hl2, that awful river of telltale shit.
Fuck that. At least ep2 felt like an actual add-on and not a dlc.
Too bad with valves approach to games it was basically a delayed funeral.
They, not the fans, have set the bar so high they can never meet their own expectations. Instead of just making a polished final entry they shat out alyx.
only because valve can't count to three
no
Black Mesa is good for the most part but they managed to make Xen even more of a drag
Episode 1 was pretty bad but Episode 2 almost felt like a squel if they had fleshed it out more and made it longer
Play HL1 or HL Source first, then HL2 and Episodes THEN go back and play Black Mesa
Portal is optional
>in hindsight
you say that like the idea was popular at the time.
OPEN FOR BUSINESS
>'Vortal Combat' starts playing
>or HL Source
it's really not that bad
valve was a mistake
They both surpass original's mediocre combat.
install brutal half life if youre too zoomer
how?
it's literally the same
Better paced fights, less gimmicks and shitty """puzzles""". It's like Valve blew their load over "holy shit we have Havoc Physics" and instead designed some sweet and memorable encounters.
