Does CPU even matter?

Did everyone just give up on destruction

I got a 5500 for $138, and it can actually play SupCom FA without lagging.

not buying their new cpu's

might buy one of those 3d chips after they release the newer ones and prices come down to something sane

>Did everyone just give up on destruction
Unfortunately, yes. Red Faction Guerilla is still the pinnacle of destruction physics and it's over 10 years old

75% of all PC games coming out next year and in the next 5 years after that are all going to be Unreal Engine 5 games that absolutely ass blast the fuck out of CPU performance, so better upgrade if you don't want 30fps

Unreal engine has never been used extensively in AAA games, what makes you think UE5 is going to be any different?

Tim recently claimed 48%+ of next gen games were being made with Unreal, which adds up considering major studios like CD Project and Crystal Dynamics are throwing away with in house tools to move to Unreal, plus studios that left for a while like Bioware are coming back to Unreal again. Square is mostly making everything in Unreal now like FF7 and KH4. Market looks like its moving that way

Because I saw the fucking logo all over Summer Games Fest & Gamescom.

I'm still running an FX8350

You must be 18 to post here.

I dunno man

genuinely how is it holding up these days? What's your fps in newer stuff?

Try playing Elden Ring on a Q6600

gonna be honest lads
5800x3d looks more promising than any of these

I have a 3900x, but I bought it during the chip shortage/coof era about two years ago. worth the upgrade?

would the game even start?

I feel like AMD have somewhat shot themselves in the foot by sandbagging intel so hard with the x3D versions of those CPUs we know are coming. They will cost a lot no doubt, but if you just want game performance then we know a 7800x3d will blow everything there out of the water, and everything intel will come out with this year or the next.

If you play games on the Clausewitz Engine (almost all Paradox games), you'll need a good CPU. People always complain about slowdown mid-to-late game in those, and it's always a CPU issue for them

every year for the past 5 years
>WOW AMD HAS BLOWN INTEL OUT AGAIN, INTEL IS KILLED
every time the benchmarks come out
>so TECHNICALLY intel is better in every game
why does this happen?

Kill yourself paradox tranny.

Your shit tier socialistic company doesn’t even know how to hide their tranny propaganda.

Your company doesn’t even try to hide its communistic business practices.

You will never be a real woman.

You will never have a real womb.

You will never have a real vagina.

Kill yourself.

in general at 1080 everything runs at 60 maybe more I don't know cuz I limit them.

I don't play FPS. is mostly action shit like hack&slash and others. I also I play a lot of fighting games so I have performance for ages.

I don't care about shit like HDR, RT or 60+fps, pure memes imo.

I draw and stream, 32gb of ram was my real need for work my RX580 (4g) works fine, encodes video, serves 4 monitors and gets performance enough for my needs. I don't see myself changing my pc any soon unless there's some devil may cry 6 or vanquish 2 that requires it.

I'm just a history enthusiast but okay...

timmy aren't you bored of screaming and shilling turds at people?

Lol no game fully use any modern cpu, a fucking ryzen 3600 is still more than you ever need even for 4k.

The only reason to upgrade is for single core performance so... old or bad optimized games lol

this is only because of how shitty the jagular cpus in ps4 and xbox one are. Once cross gen ends cpu useage is going to go through the roof

Intel just retard strengths their way through with faster single cores and developers are too retarded to properly use multiple threads.

as far as I know only old game that needs single core performance is GZDoom but in that case lol nothing will run it well

If you were actually a history enthusiast, Doreen, you wouldn’t buy from a company which hides tranny flags in their ads.

My 11400f will suffice for a while, but I'm interested in getting one with integrated and an ITX board to make a mini pc for emulation.
