Mature Games for Mature Gamers

>that time Mega Man was almost rebooted as a grimdark FPS
What's this obsession with turning bright and colorful games that fit a variety of genres into dark and gritty shooters?

It was a different time
Now it would be a black woman X

I would play a one-off in this style but the Transformers alien face bugs me, it misses the entire point of what a X is.

one of few times i was glad capcom canceled the game. it sounds horrible on paper and it looks like shit in practice.

Honestly? I kinda wish it actually happened just to see the trashfire.

It would make for an interesting enemy though and, while I really hate to compare it to this, kind of like metal sonic or some shit.

Companies were trying to get the dudubro gen into their franchises by getting rid of anything unique about their franchises. It wasn't a very well thought strategy.

it was during the period of time when capcom was outsourcing their dev work to western studios. it didn't go so well for dead rising and lost planet. be glad megaman didn't become a victim.

This was so par for the course for Capcom in that era. I was looking through the Xbox store a few days ago checking out the Mega Man games and saw that both Mega Man 9 and 10 had five pieces of paid DLC. They literally locked hard mode for 9 behind a paywall.

its funny in an absurd way, lighten up you cunt

I actually liked some of the ideas they had for it, even the concept of X becoming evil over the course of 3 games, but overall it would've been a dumpster fire if the small bit of gameplay demo they showed off is anything to go buy. Looked like Doom 2016 but with longer glory kills in 3rd person.

>Mega Man game
>DLC
Bruh.

Wasn't the X and Zero series already dark and gritty compared to the original Megaman series?

Yes, but only in the sense that it openly acknowledged all the dark shit going on. It still looks cartoony and colorful. Nothing like what Maverick Hunter would've been.

>made by Fagtro Studios
Thankfully Mega Man avoided getting the burgerclap disease, same with Metroid as they're Spainards.

Looks kino

>target lock
>auto-aim
>mega man game

Everyone wanted to be Gaylo back then, brah.

Robot masters hero shooter would be kind of cool. Just do it in 3rd person so jumping and shit is still pretty cool.

Funnily enough
This game might have worked cosidering the success o DOOM (2016)
a first person MMX where you get a new gun everytime you defeat a boss doesnt sound bad in theory

Sure, but it's best done as its own separate series, not as a reboot. ... Actually, that'd be fucking hilarious. Yet another spinoff series, and it's an FPS of all things.

AXL could use having his own series instead of being shoehorned into the X series
