Want to chill and shoot in fallout for a bit

>Want to chill and shoot in fallout for a bit.
>Can make both fallout 4 and NV combat fun with some mods.
>Absolutely hate story and quest in 4.
>NV has almost no enemies and basically you can kill everyone in just a couple of hours.
Maybe there's a mod that can fix either of these problems?

What in the fuck are you talking about

My genocide run was a little under 5 hours and most of that time I just walked.

ok? But what do you mean almost no enemies? Iy probably has more enemy types than FO4

For New Vegas download Living Desert and Mojave raiders mods. These add a significant amount of new enemies, ambushes, and location to the map. One modder is also working on adding random encounters similar to those in Fallout 2 into New Vegas.

Play tale of two wastelands, go through fallout 3 content with new Vegas companions (EDE and Boone) and new Vegas weapons
make sure to bring all the pre war books to Arlington library, any energy weapons in poor condition to fort independence and chinese assault rifles to the slavers gun guy

I mean, most of the map is fucking desert.
I honestly think NV lacks dungeons where you could just shoot like in fallout 4 and skyrim.

Yeah, New Vegas goes for quantity over quality when it comes to locations. There's no random out of place schematic dungeons. And honestly that's better approach, but at the same time they should have copied fallout 2 random encounter system.

>There's no random out of place schematic dungeons.
There are some.
I actually got that urge when I recently stumbled across broc flower cave and realised it was quite fun.

tl;dr, it's a blog post don't bother
Idk wtf he's talking about, going back to vegas after lit 10 years I was shocked I didn't remember how quickly shit respawns compared to 4 on survival mode. I swear to god you have to wait a week to get shit to respawn on 4. This makes "farming" a viable strat on vegas like if you need cazador glands for turbo there's several outdoor spots and a cave full of them (not sure if it's just the cave that respawns). But me and my mate were trying to work out why fiends don't drop drugs and if maybe you need to do the khan drug shipment quest before fiends will drop drugs. I like all fallouts, bethesdas writing on 3, 4 and ES is unfathomably dogshit but I don't find it hard to ignore the whole "omg dullard teen, don't you REALLY care about your dad!?" *10 odd years later "omg gen xer, don't you REALLY care about your son!?" and just play it like "lol I was a random wastelander with no association to the story" actually NV is less in your face with its story but the dlc is constantly trying to remind your you're the courier.

New Vegas has two enemy types. Ranged enemy and melee enemy. They all act the same way.

>New Vegas loves reskins so much they even reskin the enemies.

How many trog reskins are there again? I can remember the plant creatures and the tunnelers. Did I forget one?

Fallout 3 probably has the best balance of “I wanna shoot shit” and RPG elements. Play that.

>average Fallout 3 appreciator

There's a reason why I didn't mention fallout 3 in OP.
Combat in 3 sucks no matter how many mods you install and also the game runs even worse than NV.

hello sirs.

Combat is just kind of Mediocre in Fallout games. Despite most of the gameplay being shooting shit, it conflicts with the RPG elements so they have to balance it out. Most of the time it's fine. But in some instances the bullet sponge durability shit really wears on my ability to enjoy the game.

that cave is a quest place given to you very early in the game

>Bored
>Decide to finally do a low int FO1 run
>99.9% of NPCs straight up say "fuck off retard" after the first dialogue option
>Can't get any quests without mentats
Realistic but this fucking sucks. Is FO2 any better in this regard?

I'd say NV has a pretty good gameplay and RPG relationship.
Special affects gameplay, stats changes the way you play, and then there are perks.

bugs

You get way more unique characteristics with fallout 3's weapons. Especially the crafted ones. The only thing nv has over it is the hunting shotgun and Euclid's C-Finder.

You can play Mart's mutant mod for NV and get assraped by bulletsponges, or install UIF maybe (never played it) but you can try it for a non-bethesda story for 4

>Combat in 3 sucks
it sucks in NV

>not downloading and playing some of the legitimately well made quest mods for New Vegas
NGMI

>UIF
Honestly, this is the first time I've heard about it.
Usually the response I get is "look we have mod with BASED enclave that also adds naked chicks for some reason".
Do these exist?
I've always thought that story mods for 3d fallouts are absolute trash with no exceptions.
