It is though. When you reach Swordmarch you are in chapter 5 of 7, everything else like you said is side content. Chapter 5 is pretty meaty, but chapter 6 is just running to Colony Omega and then Nia. Chapter 7 is the Origin scavenger hunt and final dungeon.

I’ve got weird opinions on this one, characters were pretty good. And the last 3rd really picked up.

But Jesus Christ the rest of it is dog shit. The whole crossover aspect is done terribly. Only one fucking Titan boss and he doesn’t even look like a Titan.

Brings back all the races but calls them “human” lanz doesn’t need to eat and he has skin made of metal. None of the characters find that odd.

Introduces blades but they don’t function the Same at all despite literally being blades from xc2.

I get that the forever now is a shitty amalgamation of worlds but it’s just not fun to explore. And I’m glad the worlds were put back to normal in the ending because fuck everything about the shit merged world.

Also for the love of all that is holy can they just make a real action rpg already?

If you didn't do any side quests until chapter 5, one can make a strong argument that the game isn't half over yet. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff to do in the ocean, hours worth of side content, hours worth of new areas you couldn't go to because you weren't leveled up yet, not to mention refighting the bosses to soul hack them, etc. But I agree, the game being "half over" really does depend on how much side content you've done up until that point. I bet isn't doing any of the side content and is blasting through the story as fast as possible. Shows he doesn't know how Xenoblade games work.

Speaking of , here are your three flaws:

- Auto attack SUCKS. By the time you near the end of the game, you never have to rely on that anymore if you know what you're doing, but it sucks until you find ways around it.
- Not being able to unlock classes for other characters because you're overleveled and having to wait until postgame to delevel yourself or grind unique monsters kinda sucks.
- We were moving in sync, right Taion? RIGHT TAION? HEY DID YOU HEAR LANZ WANT SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT MEATIER
