I think the problem with k'jimbo is that he cant into game design. His attempt at 'elevating' the medium is basically exposition dumps and convoluted world-building. In the end, it's ludo narrative dissonance because the gameplay just does not cater to his ideas. Only the cutscenes do, but at that point, you might as well just make a movie. Not saying his games are bad, I love MGS1-5 and Death Stranding, it's just that he does not do much interesting in terms of gameplay as he does with his worldbuilding.
