Seems like the hype died and that the game was massively overrated, i even remember people calling it the citizen kane of gaming before release, and in the end the game just wasn't as fun to play as the dark souls games
What went wrong with elden ring?
It's just a game
its gay
People just finished it and moved on
What else is there more to say
I fucked your mom OP
It's just another roll masher like ds3. It literally doesn't do anything new at all.
It's just soulshit.
Any Forums talked about it nonstop for 2 months. Never seen Any Forums full of threads for just one game like that in 13 years Ive been here
no new game plus killed it
shoulda spent at least a few more months in the oven even if everyone would bitch about it
>Seems like the hype died
Yeah, 50% of people who bought it finished it. That's way above average.
That’s what happens when secondaries buy your stuff, they overhype new stuff to unrealistic heights and don’t know how to cope with reality. Also it’s a single player game.
>no ng+
Did you not play the game?
It's a primarily single player game that came out half a year ago, what do you expect? Only thing that I can knock it for is the patchwork lore, that's the main thing that drives these games' discussions post-launch and Elden Ring is especially egregious with cut content/plot threads that stifle discussion to the point where the only ones left are headcanon shitflingers.
Roll masher is a thing in des das das2 das3 and ER. Only sekiro and BB to some extent don't have roll spam combat
Sekiro and Bloodborne were better and you know it
>People just finished it and moved on

BOTW came out 5 years ago and it’s not only a much better game, it also has a much stronger staying power, pretty much has threads on Any Forums everyday
Open World souls is not a great idea. The games work better with steady and quality progress rather than doing chalice dungeon#88 during my third playthrough. NG+ where I just bossrushed the content felt better than the full game
pre-bloodborne enemies didn't have such long attack chains, rolling cost much more stamina, and stamina regen was slower. The time spent rolling vs attacking was much more even.
In bloodborne it's different because you have quickstep and rally, so you can play much more aggressively. But in ds3 and now to a greater degree in elden ring, the enemy attack chains are longer and rolling is cheaper, so you spend much more time just evading the enemy than you do attacking. In pvp this goes to the extreme, where if your opponent wants to they can just roll away forever and never get hit unless you trap them in a corner.
Ds3 mechanics have overstayed their welcome, elden ring would have been far more fun with stepdodge.
>the citizen kane of gaming
kek, based
They could have gone back to what made DS1 so good. The environment being a major factor in the combat. Narrow ledges and corridors are what made DS1 fun. I miss edging around corners with my shield up.
BoTW threads are monstly open-worldfags arguing with dungeonfags though.
