This entire game is just a haphazard collection of simple, shallow systems. One complex system would do the game more favors than whatever this half-assed shit they decided was good enough to release as a final product is right now.

Those things aside, the gameplay generally feels hollow. They went for a quantity over quality approach with the planets, but most of the planets don't actually have that much content themselves. It could easily be a great game if they laser focused the gameplay and put in a bit of work to polish the game. All the elements are there.

Real answer is Chucklefuck wanted to make a fantasy game, but Terraria existed. So they reluctantly did sci-fi instead which is why most of the main effective weapons are gay ass swords and spears that don't look setting appropriate at all. Honestly melee in aci-fi can be kinda cool if it's something kino like The Surge where it's actually built around the setting and not a half assed afterthought. You use worker tools that can slice or crush people to death in a pinch.
