diablo 2?

Based.

>that absolute lack of contrast
their new game Vikings on Trampolines is an absolute mess too, the characters are overdesigned and overanimated, pause at a few points and try to figure out just what the fuck you're looking at as they spaz out all over the place, the readability is hell

OP's pic isn't a game from the owlboy studio

no outline was a mistake

Still highlights a big value and readability problem present in modern vidya across the board, as if modern devs suddenly forgot it was ever a thing

my bad, they still both look like puke

Gorgeous backgrounds though, I wasn't going to play it anyway but more art by snake to study from is always welcome

It could be helped by darker shadows on the characters without affecting the style

Pixel graphics are pointless without a good crt shader. You're just staring at raw pixels.

>crt shader
half-decent crts aren't expensive, just buy one unless you're underage.

>pixel art so good that it might as well be vector
AAAAAAAAAAA STOP THIS, if I can't even see the pixels why bother making it pixel art

1. You don't know what vector art is
2. You don't know most pixel art looks like that at native resolution but most of the time you're not looking at it at native resolution

I can open your 1920x1080 pic and look at it fullscreen and the pixel art is detailed enough that it's hard to make out the pixels, I'm not familiar with pixel art lingo but that's what I see
if you just take a cursory glace at the screen it doesn't even read as pixel art, just regular art

So this is good pixel art according to you
